Prem babies or twins get put on a 4hr feeding schedule in the hospital? my neighbour just had twins.at 36 weeks and whilst in hospital they got on to a 4 hour feeding schedule. Just seems along time between feeds at such a young age and odd they encourage baby led feeding in term or single babies.

That doesn't seem right. My almost 2 year old hardly goes 4hrs without nursing. I think feeding on demand is the way to go as each child is different and not all eat on the same schedule. The nurses are probably just trying to make it easier on themselves and stick babies on a schedule. Which doesn't always meet the babies needs.

I think its rather odd too :/ are you sure its only feeding every 4hours? Is it not feed on demand but don't let them go more than 4hours?

:/ I don't understand how it would work! Surely if the babh is hungry they wouldn't purposely delay feeding until the 4hour mark!

I had a prem

they built up to it 1 hr for a qhile

then 2 and so on til they get to 4

she came home on a 4 hr routine
