Does anyone use Nuby bottles?

I can see that it's best to use a Step 1 bottle with a slow flow teat at first, but they are so expensive compared to the step 2 bottles!

Are the step 2 bottles different from the step 1? Or is it just a case of the teat being different?

IF they are the same could I buy step 2 and just get step 1 teats to start with?

Thanks in advance :flower:

i noticed this too! They are on offer in boots at the moment (if you are going to buy them). I considered them as they look quite similar to TTs but a bit cheaper. Our LO is not liking the NUKs anymore.

This is from MC website
Step 1
•Gentle squeeze encourages milk flow
•Assists with latch-on
•Advanced anti-colic base for first stage bottle feeding

Step 2
•Breast size nipple
•Assists with latch on
•Anti-colic nipple for regular bottle feeding

Must be the anti colic base. Maybe like the Avent bottles that have an extra ring that fits beneath the teat and is supposed to help with colic?

Yes I see what you mean ...

What is it you're going to do? lol... I might email them actually.

My niece had terrible trouble with Nuk and so my sister moved her onto Mam bottles and she's much happier.

Nuk was a life saver for us. She did not like Avent, TT, Browns, my boobs, etc. You can imagine the amount of money we have spent! After a period of few days where she went through a growth spurt, changing teat size, etc, she ended up back on TT and put nearly 2 lb on it 2 weeks!

I may by some Nubies today as they are on offer and get step 1 (you can buy one at a time). They seem similar to TTs but cheaper so maybe worth the try. Any way to save cash whilst on maternity leave!!!

Yes that's exactly what my sister went through, everytime Isabel sucked on the Nuk when she had her growth spurt the teat it inverted itself and she cried as she wasn't getting anything out. Tried her on her twin brother's Avent bottle (see... twins but different bottles lol) and she hated those, can't blame her, the teats seem really hard and stiff but in the end was advised on Mam and loves them.

2lb in two weeks... bless her heart! Now that is fantastic isn't it!

I am going to try and bf, but would like to express so that family can feed little one so will need some bottles!

How many do you think I might need (I have a 2 min microwave steriliser) ... you can tell I am a first time Mum with all the questions

A few years ago Nuby was part of tommee tippee; they are a dutch company I believe. Now they are a seperate company but a lot of their designs are very similar...

Tommee Tippee used to distribute Nuby products. Nuby is an American company and the Step 1 bottles are different because;

1) the base is made from silicone (same material as the teat) so you can squeeze the bottle encouraging latch on.

2) the teat and base both have anti-colic valves

Hope this helps!
