Does change of address mean change of MW?

Afternoon ladies! Just a quick one really, I have just moved house this week and was due a visit from a Health Visitor on Tuesday at my old address. I have contacted the Health Centre and informed them of my new address but they said as I have moved out of their area, I will need to use a different GP/Health Centre.

My concern is that I will have to change MW too! I have only moved literally 10 mins away from where I was (moved from Leeds city centre to outskirts) so I didnt think it would be such a big deal! I have been with my MW since I was 6 weeks pregnant and I am now 31 weeks. I really dont want to have to change at this stage and I am more than happy to travel to my appointments with her but am wondering if this is still an issue?

Has anyone moved house while they were pregnant and had to to do this?

I think it all depends on the doctors surgery. I have only just changed my address after enquiring as my doctors was still under my mums address as i hadnt changed when i moved out

I asked my midwife 1st if i could stay with her before changing the address and she said that that would be fine as she was sure that i wouldnt need to change doctors. I think if i needed to change doctors i would have had to change midwife.
Like you i have moved about 10 mins away.

Call your midwife and see what she says.

Hey hun had exactly the same thing was with my MW since 6 weeks and moved to new address therefore new doctors and yes unfortunatly new MW I was 35 weeks when I moved but they were pretty quick at sorting and changing me over and luckily my new MW is nice! but yes if you change docs you have to change MW!

Oh no thats what I was dreading!

I have read so many awful stories about women not liking their MW so I thought I was lucky to have one that I like! Boo hoo!! I dont want to start all over again!
