I wouldn't say so...I was induced with first and had episiotomy to get baby out then with second I had natural labour and tore. Both my babies were big but second much bigger (1st was 8 lb 5 oz, second was 9 lb 15oz). Tearing can be caused by speed, position, size...all sorts. Also size of baby is not really the issue it's more head circumference
3 inductions and didnt tear during any of my labours. Best advice I can give is listen to your body, and push when your body tells you to push and not the midwives. Seemed to really help with me!
I was induced via Cervidil, (this is my first) at 41+1. I ended up with an overstimulated uterus - 12 hours of labour and 2 hours of pushing resulted in a 7lb 4 ouncer and only a very small first degree tear! If it wasn't for the horrific hemmoroids, I would have been walking fine after about a week. Honestly, I don't think induction increases chances of tearing. My doctor even commented and how amazing my muffin was after the birth.
Hi there, I was induced to have my bub(waters broken then pitocin started immediately). I had a very fast (2 1/2hr) labour and only pushed for about 15mins. I didn't tear at all and only had a couple of monor grazes. This was my first also

Agree with this! With my second, the midwife wasn't even ready for the baby coming out, i got to 10cm very fast! My body just started pushing by itself and there was absolutely nothing i could do, so i just went along with it and concentrated on my breathing. I guess down there had just the right amount of relaxation and time to stretch how it needed to. No tears, hoping for the same this time!
