does it cost the same to sned something to northern ireland by royal mail

I'm pretty sure it does, unless things have changed quite recently-its parcel force and other couriers where it will cost quite a bit more to send stuff to outlying areas of the UK xx

It's exactly the same. It's still part of the UK so no difference if you were posting it to someone who lived next door (not that you would but you get my drift).

I am constantly sending things to England for my family, cards and such and they are also doing the same.

It is the same to Northern Ireland as it is part of the UK . Southern Ireland is different

They're right, it's the same. Couriers will be different but normal RM is identical (I've sent there many a time on ebay)
