when almost every aisle is dedicated to girls' clothes in certain shops?
I spoke to someone who works on the design team for Next and she said it's all about the colour palette.. I just find it so frustrating when I go into shops and boys have about 1/3 of the stuff girls do.
Like today, Tesco has girls clothing on the end of EVERY aisle, and the boys' was halfway down ONE aisle.
Pumpkin patch have gorgeous prem baby things for girls but guess what?...........
Sorry for the rant but I'm finding it SO hard to clothe my little one!!

yup it actualy makes me mad lol
its hard enough finding a nice boy outfit but then ur faced with rows and rows of lovely girl stuff

I thought it was just me LOL
I actually rant and rave in the shop ... OH walks away in shame :)

yup girls have far more, it really drove me mad when Dewi was younger it was almost impossible to buy him proper outfits in early baby, 0-3 months he was stuck in jersy fabric baby blue boring sleepsuits or stuff with winnie the bloody pooh on it.

But the girls could have full accessorized outfits from day 1!

Yeah it drives me nuts too. According to my hubby it doesn't get any better as they get older. Don't ask him about choice in mens shoes ;)

I think it depends on what you're looking for i.e. The one you want isnt in stock.
We have a little girl and I love her in bright colours as well as pinks but the bright reds and greens are in the boys section with cars or monsters on.

ive gotta say, it drives me nuts too. and its EVERY flippin shop. not ONE shop ive ever been in has either equal amounts of boys and girls clothes or more boys clothes. very annoying! x

Dont get me started.
I went shopping for somr new clothes the other day and in one shop alot of girls clothes where on sale but no boys clothes, another had 8 rails (I counted im sad) of girls and only 1 rail for boys and half of that was taken over by girls clothes and the boys ones that where there where just thrown here there and everywhere half the items missing off them.
I then went into primark and the tiny little boys section they had was surrounded by boxes and packaging material where the shop had used that area to store stuff and you couldnt get anywhere near it.
I ended going home empty handed and very annoyed.
Also is it just me or do most shops only seem to stock grey looking boys clothes, arnt they allowed to wear any other colour?

YES! I walked out of pumpkin patch last weekend in a rage, and I wish I had said something to the staff. The boy's aisle was so small and just full of greys, navys and dark greens. It was horrible!!!

Tescos is terrible for boy's clothes too, but luckily Sainsburys isn't so bad. Got LO a few amazing hooded tops last week and so cheap too.

It is annoying. But I've managed to find LO some nice clothes from Next, George and M&S - I find M+S's ratio of boys to girls clothes not too bad and have some lovely stuff from there. In fact, my LO has so many clothes and a lot of them are bright - maybe I've just been lucky when I've been shopping?!
xx

No - don't get me wrong, we have some lovely stuff too. In fact, I have a great stock of 12-18 month items built up already! Just sometimes, when I actually stop and look, it just seems like there is an unfair balance..

I agree about the sale rails too... there are never boy bargains lol!

OMG YES!! I HATE THIS!!

The first time I walked into Mothercare when I was still pregnant, I said loud enough for the sales people to hear, "Okay...I see all the effing pink for girls, where is the boys' section?" They pointed over to a smaller section and my reply was, "THAT'S ALL?!"

Boring!

The thing that annoyed me today in Mothercare.... the baby girls have a shoe SECTION, the boys have 2 different styles hung up on their ONE rack of boys' clothing...

Which Mothercare is this?

Ours has a section for boys' shoes.

Then again, I think ours is a Mothercare World (is that the same thing?)

It's the same way here in the states. It drives me crazy. It's like the makers of clothes don't think boys needs cutes things like the girls have.

Grrr, don't get me started! I went into tesco last week, looking for boys tights because I carry LO in a carrier so I put him in tights in cold weather so he doesn't get a cold gap between socks and trousers. I couldn't find them so asked, and the lady looked at my lo, (dressed very much as a boy) and said "for a girl you mean?" I was like "no for my son" and they looked at me like I was a freak then showed me to the range of pink spotty and pink stripey tights!!! I almost bought some just to see the look on their faces!
So, no, apparenly even tights are now only for girls!!

I know what you mean, it drives me mad!! I've had such a hard time finding a COAT for my son, I didn't think that was too much to ask for, a nice padded winter coat in 0-3. Ended up finding one online as in all the shops I went to they only had girls coats. Maybe boys don't get cold??!!

it doesnt get to me that much the small selection we have

the bit that winds me up is my friend had a boy few days after me and we have that small a selection we have to make sure our little boys arnt in same stuff

you walk round town and see loads of individual little girls yet all the little boys look like clones of each other
