Does it wind you up....

i always find theres always tons of boy stuff!!

God yeah, I was in Next just the other day with loads of vouchers to spend and it annoyed me too!

Drives me mad :( Makes me feel like little boys aren't cute enough to have all these little accessories!

I've noticed this too. We try to buy gender neutral, because we will be TTC again and want to be able to use the same things with the next baby, whatever the gender. But while Pumpkin Patch may not have much for boys, last time I was there (the Southampton store, but also online) had LOADS in neutral

It is annoying. But I've managed to find LO some nice clothes from Next, George and M&S
Here we only have 4 shops to choose from: BHS (which literally only stocks pink and blue), M&S (which stocks about 8 outfits for each gender, mainly pink, blue and white), Next (good for girls, crap for boys) and Mothercare (as far as I'm aware, fairly equal with both genders), and they only buy in what they think is cute; there isn't much of a selection. Imagine how frustrated you would be if you had a baby boy here!

I think it depends on what you're looking for i.e. The one you want isnt in stock.
We have a little girl and I love her in bright colours as well as pinks but the bright reds and greens are in the boys section with cars or monsters on.
I agree, and most places cling to the gender stereotypes, which we're trying to avoid. Boys' clothes have loads of cheeky sayings on them, like "little rascal" or "here comes trouble", and pictures of monkeys or dinosaurs on them, but you can't really put them on a girl, because they're so boyish in cut and colour. Girls' stuff is just "little princess" and "mummy's little flower" and has fairies, flowers and cakes on them; all flouncy, but not cheeky. Why can't a girl be cheeky too? I prefer my LO to be dressed in cheeky and fun clothes, opposed to girly and princessy, no offence to anyone that buys those things, but I get frustrated seeing boys with cool slogans on their tops, and my LO has to be in plain pink stuff

I know that in general, a girl is easier to dress, but going back to the idea that it depends what you're looking for; I hate that everything for girls is pink, and everything for boys is blue. Grr, I don't like pink, and I can't put her in blue because then everyone assumes she's a boy  I just want neutral stuff, and I cna't be the only person in the world that buys clothes for their first baby hoping to use them for their second too; money doesn't grow on trees. But most of the time, they only make neutral stuff for NB if you don't know the sex of your baby. But what about afterwards; are yellow, brown, green, turquoise banned? Just because I have a girl, it doesn't mean I'm confined to pink

See I find it annoying that although there is loads of outfits for girls they are all PINK! I hate pink. I don't want to dress my girl in nothing but pink. I wish they did more green/yellow/red/orange etc unisex clothing.
Everywhere I go I prefer all the boys clothes and always think their outfits are much nicer. I'd dress my LO in boys outfits if I thought she would still look girly - but despite dressing in the occassional pink t-shirt etc then she still often gets referred t as a boy. Just because I have not dressed her head to toe in pink does not automatically mean she must be a boy!!!
I alwasy look enviously at the boys clothes and hope we have a boy next!

yep!! i've walked out of shops ranting and raving about how little boys clothes they have...

It wound me up a few weeks ago. I knew 3 people who all had boys and I really struggled to find presents!

I hate this!! I went into Monsoon the other week to get a christening outfit for my little man. They had the whole collection of monsoon baby girl but nothing for boys!! WTF!!

Drives me insane too and I always rant loudly in shops about the pathetic boys section. I went into a Asda George shop about a month ago and there was 3 (!) whole aisles of baby girls clothes and then 1/2 an aisle of boys clothes. I walked out in disgust.

I do find mothercare, M&S and next to not be so bad but it is like the shops think boys don't actually need to be dressed nicely and any old rubbish will do for them.

It gets better when they grow up. Omar have a very nice collection. He's in 12-18 outfits now, & I got him very nice shirts frm Debenhams. He looks soo cute when I dress him like his dad. They have cute pink, orange & yellow shirts for boys, so he's not always in blue. :D

H&m is good is half and half in the shops I go to, Next is mostly girls but u get really cute boys outfits

i find Monsoon and Pumpkin Patch worse for this, they practically do not cater for boys; whilst their girls' sections are full of all lovely things, glittery and pretty, the boys' are so drab and boring, really annoys me. i find h & m and next best for clothes and also Zara have some beautiful little bits for boys too xxx

YES! there's always LOADS of beautiful girls stuff, and like hardly any boys stuff :( i'm really struggling to find aiden nice outfits. i have to shop online for most of it!

I was going to say... if you're after bright colours for a girl I *think* bluezoo in Debenhams do alternative colours to pink?

ooooh excellant thread......i always moan about this!! i like my lo to wear grown up clothes ie not just babygros and at first found it soooooooooo hard to find anything anywhere!!!! next is prob my fave place to buy clothes, but can be quite pricy at times....but i do get well annoyed with the blatant favouritism for girls clothes!!!

Ugh. I hate this.
Hubby is best man at a wedding next month. trying to find a nice outfit for a 4 month old that isn't too over the top was nearly impossible.
LOADS of beautiful little dresses, but hardly anything smart for a little boy.

I think Blue Zoo in Debenhams is my favourite of all the kids clothes# shops!

So bright and cheerful with lots of robots :D I always see a million things I want!

Makes me mad too as there is so much girls stuff. Oliver doesn't suit the baby blue that most shops seem to stock in their very limited boys section so we really have to shop around to find some stronger colours. All I can say is it is a good jobe we like, and he suits dungarees otherwise we would hardly have any clothes for him!
