Does Ovulation Spotting Happen before or After Ovulation

Hi Ladies,

I am curious and haven't been able to find this answer on google. Perhaps this is because there isn't an answer, but I thought you all might have some insight!

Does ovulation spotting happen before or after ovulation? Since I've started monitoring my cycles, I've noticed spotting on CD14. Since I have 28 day cycles, I figured this must be ovulation spotting.

I'm also using OPKs. When I put the results into my app, it's saying that I'll ovulate 3 days later after a positive. Therefore, my ovulation day gets pushed back in the app as CD15.

I always thought ovulation bleeding happened after ovulation, but I actually can't find any of that info when I search. Does it actually happen before?

Anyone have more info? I'm mostly curious, plus, I think I missed my positive OPK this month from testing with urine that wasn't concentrated enough, so I'm trying to be a bit more precise.

I have read it can happen right before when the egg is trying to release or after the egg has come out. Good luck!

Thanks! That's what I've read, so I guess the answer is either! I ended up getting a positive OPK and the app pushed my ovulation to day 16, so I'm guess my spotting happens slightly before.
