Does uterine polyp removal change menstrual cycle?

Hi everyone!

We have been ttc since April 2015. After many, many unsuccessful attempts, my obgyn found a uterine polyp that I had removed on 06/14/2016 as well as minimal endometriosis that she blasted. I am now on CD03 of my post-op cycle. I am just wondering what I can expect this cycle as we are going to start trying again next month. Have people found their cycles changed (longer, shorter, etc.)? Also, my doc suggested we wait two months, but have others been successful after one month?

Thanks for any insight you can offer! :)

My cycle didn't change at all, but my polyp was very small and I didn't have any endo. There have been several women who've gotten pregnant after a month. My doc didn't put any restrictions on trying--just whenever we felt up to it.

I had 2 large polyps removed last year that had filled my uterus. My overall cycle stayed the same, but my period went down to around 3-4 days and are now lighter. Previously I had very heavy periods that lasted 5-6 days.

Hi ladies, I'm going in for a consult with my doc after they found a polyp on my first ultrasound for infertility evaluation. Can anyone tell me what to expect with the procedure? Did you need more than the day for recovery before going back to work? By the time I have the procedure I'll be back in nursing school with clinicals and working, so I'm a little worried about needing any time off.

I'm really hoping I'm one of those women that have success ttc right away after!

I think it will depend on what they do. I recently had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy (nothing was removed from my uterus but i had adhesions cleared) and I definitely needed a few days to recover. I know a lap is different as I had a lot of shoulder pain afterwards, I don't think you'd get that from hysteroscopy.

Hope it all goes well xx
