I am not very good about consistently taking my BBT. I also don't ovulate consistently. Out of the last 12 months I have ovulated 5 times

That said, my usual pre-O temp is roughly 97.4. Pos-O temp has been 98.0.

Last month I was convinced I didn't ovulate but I got my period (which has NEVER happened on an anovulatory cycle before) and this month I have all my usual signs of ovulation (EWCM, high soft CP, sore nipples, acne) and thought I had some right low pelvic cramping two nights ago. But my BBT hasn't risen past 97.7 yesterday and 97.55 this morning.

Does it being winter affect my BBT? Could it being winter make my BBT lower or did my body decide to gear up to O with strong signals this month and then not O? It's been 2 days and my nipples are still sore which is normal for me after ovulation.

So confused...?

A colder room could definitely affect your bbt! Try to keep your house the same temp throughout the month, use the same amount of blankets, wear the same amount of clothes to bed, etc.

You can also get a dip in temp right before O, so it might shoot back up tomorrow!

Well winter never effected my bbt but I do use thick blankets and central heating. If the room is in the mid to lower 60's then and you were sleeping with thin blnkets then I'd say yes it could, but overall I'd say no.

Thank you!! I sleep in the nude (TMI, sorry!) with flannel sheets and a down comforter. As an experiment I turned the heat up a couple degrees last night and my BBT was 97.88 this morning so I'm going to guess it truly is related to the ambient room temperature. I had no idea it could affect my BBT so strongly.

I can comfortably and reasonably confirm ovulation then and am now in my 2WW! Always such a nerve wracking wait, especially since I don't ovulate normally. I always do a little happy dance when I ovulate! Haha!

Yay for confirming O! I hope your tww flies by...and that Santa brings you a BFP!
