I am 36w1d. So far my baby as many other babies had active and lazy days. The lazy days freaked me out but normally never lasted more then 2-2.5 days and then baby was kicking and jumping very actively again. I could always count more then 10 movements after each meal. Since last week the baby is moving but it would make 3-6 movements that are slow and some of them can only be felt by hand on the tummy. I know that he is not having as much space there as before but I thought that while the type of movements can change it should still be strong and approximately same number of movements per day. Every day I hope his lazy phase will be over and he will move as usual so I don't have to sit still and count. Is that normal or should I try to get to hospital? I have to say to get to be monitored is not easy - every time I call them they sound so annoyed and always tell you to go and drink something cold and to start count movements even if I already sat for two hours just doing that....
How are your babies moving at 35-36 weeks?

Mine like yours has lazy days and active days. But the type of movements have been different for the last week, more of rolls and less of definite thumps lol! I'd call if you're worried at all and if it's lasted longer than baby's normal quiet spells! My me told me off for not calling or going in when I thought the movement had decreased slightly!

Mine changed just like you at around the same time, 36 weeks. I can tell you from experience though that it is worth it for your mental health just to go in. Once you have been monitored you will feel so much more secure just knowing it is only that your LO's pattern has changed. I think you will continue to stress out until you have done that! My LO did just enough to reassure me for a couple of weeks, so I went back and forth between being fine and being really stressed out. After finally going in for monitoring I kicked myself for letting myself worry for so long...it was a huge relief.

Don't let them fob you off if you are concerned, it's your baby and your body. Like so many woman have said trust your instincts and if you feel babys movement have changed make sure they check you over x

Definately trust your instincts. I know for me and my baby... when 35 weeks hit, he became really active. His kicks are so much stronger and he just moves all about and makes me whole belly move. Before 35 weeks i would get an occasional kick or two and he was really laid back. I think he' s piling on the baby fat now and getting more energy.

Either way... as the baby gets bigger, he/she won't be moving the same... just like we don't walk the same as we did before we got this big lol. Trust your instincts and when in doubt call the midwives. I know sometimes they can be rude, but i rather be scolded for something silly than to ignore something serious.

Mine started slowing down a couple of weeks ago. His movements also changed around then, too.

I went in to the labour ward to check this and another thing that worried me, they told me I'd done the right thing and they'd prefer to be safe than sorry as the saying goes.
