Dollar Store Test-Rexall One Step-Blue Dye Test

Happy Friday!
My hubby and I have been TTC since Nov 2012. I had what I thought was my period beginning on 1/14. It wasnt a normal period (lighter than usual & brownish colored blood) but my cycles are somewhat irregular so I didn't think much of it. I have been feeling off all week (sore chest, very hungry, dizzy) so I decided to buy a pregnancy test after work today. I bought a test from the dollar store, Rexall One Step (which is a blue dye test). I took the test today at 5:15 PM. This was only 2.5 hours from the last time I had used the bathroom (I know many tests say you should wait at least 4 hours since the last time you went to the bathroom before testing). The test turned positive within seconds.
I am so scared to get my hopes up because we have been trying for what seems like such a long time and I had what I thought was a period only 17 days ago. Do you think I could be getting a false positive because it is such a cheap test or because it is a blue dye test?

And your lmp date is not jan 14, you should probably go from the one the month before that! Bet you are like 6 wks.... ( gotta think about that math and go back and read your post ha)

That test is way too dark of a line to be a faulty test! Blue dye tests are bad for evaps but there is no way an evap is that colorful!! Def preggo find a digital to confirm congrats girl!

I would be using your last period before your had spotting in the 14th cause that test looks so positive and if your last period was the 14th it wouldn't be showing anything! Congrats!!

That's deffo positive and for a line like that . Would say your are 6+ weeks, congratulations!! X

Thank you ladies!! I took another test just to be sure and again got a positive! Praying that this is it!! So, my period started 12/19 and then like I mentioned above I had what I thought was a period starting 1/14. A few ladies commented above that there is no way I would be getting a positive if I had had a period on 1/14. So should I be using 12/19 as the date of my last cycle?

I would use the period before last as your guide to how far along you are, but I would check in with the DR to find out what the Jan bleeding was about. If you were having a loss your tests would be negative by now, so its probably nothing thank goodness! Good to get checked out anyways! Good luck xox

Deffo pregnant and like others have said i would go with your af that started in dec cause with a line that dark you are deffo 5-6 weeks at least,congrats.x
