Is what my preg pack says - Well, where I work I am up and down a ladder most of the day. I work in an aquatic center, and if i'm not up a ladder catching fish for people, I'm up a ladder with a sponge and a hose cleaning the tanks out. Is it safe? Or is this just meant as a precaution incase you fall off  ? Also I have to jump up on the sides of ponds without a ladder to get to some tanks that you can get access to with a ladder. Is that alright?

Sorry if i seem waay to paranoid i'm still learning

I think it has to do with your sense of balance being off. And possibly due to the fact you may get dizzy at odd times and you wouldn't want to be on a ladder when that happened.
Anyone else know for sure?

Ooh, I'm not sure. Have you spoken to midwife about it? Perhaps give her a call. If she says you shouldn't be doing it, your manager has a legal obligation to find you a job that you can do and still has to pay you the same rates etc. Sorry, I've not really helped but didn't want to read and run. X

My bedroom is up in our loft and I climb the ladder a good few times a day, although it isnt a normal mental ladder its actually like a built in staircase its still along the lines of a ladder.

thanks everyone :)

no havent asked anyone yet, have not even seen a midwife! i literally got the preg pack from doctor today and have to book in with a midwife:)

I work in a place where I used ladders daily too but as soon as I told them I was pregnant I was not allowed to use them anymore! Its all to do with Health and Safety, and your baby comes first. If you havent told your work you are pregnant I would tell them soon so they can find you a more suitable job. :hugs: xxx

i worked at pets at home when i was pregnant with Roxie & i wasnt allowed to use the ladders at all, so when i served people fish i could only use the bottom fish tanks. I had to get someone else to get the fish out of the higher tanks.

You need to get your employer to do a risk assessment. My job involved working at height a lot, but due to the possibility blood pressure fluctuations and the risk of fainting I'm not allowed anymore, it's just too risky.

You should ask for a risk assessment. Personally I would refuse.
