Hi I'm currently 12 weeks (today) and have been paranoid that I'll miscarry or more specifically that I've had missed miscarriage ever since I got BFP. I have an appointment for my dating scan next wednesday but am wondering if its worth getting a doppler to see if it will reassure me as from what I've read I should be able to hear heartbeat by now. (have found some which will deliver before then). Am a bit worried though that if I can't find it I'll be even worse with worry... Think if I did get one hopefully if everything was OK would also use it for a while as it's several weeks before beanie's movements are going to be felt when hopefully I'll calm down a bit. Just wanted to get opinion of others who've got dopplers or not for whether they thought it was worth it or if not why not? If you did get one which one did you get and are you happy with it? My DH is away for a couple of days I know if he was here he'd be telling me to relax and not spend money on it as I still have MS etc and no bleeding (fingers crossed typing this doesn't jinx me)....

Thanks for any opinions!

I was worried that not finding bub's HB would freak me out too.. but I went ahead and got one anyway. The first time took me quite a while (so much so that the next day I was actually a little tender almost as if I'd bruised myself; did NOT think I'd been pushing too hard.. whooops..), but I did ultimately find it. That was 9w5d. Yesterday (10w), I found him again and this time must have gotten closer or something because the heartbeat sounded MUCH stronger.

Anyways, for me, it's SO reassuring, and so :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: I've had one ultrasound so far at 7w, and while that calmed me down a LOT, I was still stressing that something may go wrong before my next appointment at 11w.. now that I've heard such a strong HB at 10w, my worries are SO much lower.

Realistically, everything is probably 100% a-okay with your little bub, but I know it's hard to have faith in that even when there's nothing to make you think otherwise. A doppler can definitely help. But if you're tight on money, I would skip the purchase since your ultrasound is just a few days away and you will feel a thousand fold better after you see that.. plus, when all is well at that appointment, your chances of miscarriage thereafter are very low, and in just a few weeks time you'll be feeling kicks.

Totally up to you though!

PS - I got the Sonoline B 3mhz and I'm very pleased!
