I was going to try the Dr Browns bottles but reading some other threads im wondering if Mam ones maybe a bit simpler than the Dr Browns.

Anyone have any pros/cons on the bottles?
Which are easier to mix formula into? I dont really want to mix up a batch in a bowl id rather add powder to the bottle as i need it.

Do Brown's are fantastic, but they tend to be fiddly and if you mix the formula to the hot water in the bottle and shake it, it spurts everywhere, haven't tried MAM ones so I can't comment on them

I like Dr Browns bottles, but they are a pain in the ass to wash.

Dr Browns are the best bottle. I haven't tried mam but have tried others. With the dr browns you need to leave the lid loose until the milk has cooled down, then tighten it.
I bought tommee tipee closer to nature ones for Dillan, but found he was getting really bad wind. So I wen and got some dr browns and he isn't half as bad.
I also had dr brown for my other 2 children and they are great bottles. Yes there are more bits to wash but they are easy once you know how. There is a small brush that comes with them to clean down the valve bit. It all comes apart into pieces so its easy.

I'm going with MAM bottles mainly because of the feedback & questions I've asked the girls here before :D

Tommee CTN suck!

we used DR browns there great will use them with the next one 2

I used Mams and love them. I thought they were awesome and easy to wash, I still use them for when I pump.

I bought 1 of each for when I pump. Even though they are a bit more hassle I'll be going with the Dr Brown ones when I'm not BFing. I might have just been a div but I ended up with the milk leaking out the MAM one was worried that the water might have got in so ended up chucking a bottle of my hard pumped/slaved over BM!! Not happy!!!

I'm blind btw lol

Mix what in a bowl?

Think she means the milk seeing as Dr Browns are hard to mix milk in :)

I use Dr Browns and they are fantastic imo. They also help with reflux because baby gets less wind so is less likely to do a big burp and be sick along with it. Also found that any wind she does get comes up a lot easier :)

My friend said you mustnt shake Dr B's bottles to mix your formula....it gets stuck in the 'gubbins'..

we use MAM's and i can't rate them highly enough. very easy to clean, put together and use, and i love the anti-colic valves.

can't comment on the dr. browns as we haven't tried them, but have heard excellent things about them too :) x

:saywhat:

LOL!!! Not sure what they mean lol.. Sounds funny anyway, gave me a little giggle! If you shake them when the water is warm they explode.. Lol I have had a few accidents with that.

'Gubbins' is Yorkshire for 'the workings' or 'inner parts'....

i use dr browns but like the others say if the water is too warm it goes everywhere, i think id think twice about using them again.

I love dr Browns. If you follow the instructions, they won't leak.

EVen though they explode I would use Dr Browns again, they are definately worth all the fuss

Ah thanks!

Couldn't be fussed with that though personally!
