Ive never had piles before and havent really been constipated or straining to go to the toilet either. What could have caused this? Its so sore and im so embarrassed by it! Last week i had thrush so was really uncomfortable then and now this. Do I need to see my gp? What will they do? And will this go fairly soon? Or when ive had the baby?

Yesterday (sorry for tmi), when i went to the toilet it hurt slightly but wasnt straining to go and was only when i woke this morning that i felt abit funny and my bum was bleeding. :(

I never visited the gp. I just applied cream for soreness and that it went away few months after the birth.

Its so sore! Is this something that will definitely stay until after the birth? Im not quite 23 weeks yet :( i was hoping after a couple of days it would be gone

I feel your pain hun! A couple of weeks before starting IVF in March I had two small internal hemorrhoids banded during an endoscopy. I have never had to strain too hard nor have i ever been constipated, I eat plenty of fiber and go for walks etc so no idea what brought them on. Anyway, move forward about 4 months and I am experiencing all the same symptoms as before- feeling like I have a blade up there, bleeding when I do number 2's etc... My doctor says it's because they did such a bad job the first time, that they mustn't have done the banding right so they never went away. The pain i went through after the banding was horrific and now to find out they didn't even do it right... Now I can't get anything done about it until after the baby is born.
Looks like I will be having epsom salt baths every night for the next 5 months! :(

It may not help with added pressure of baby inside there. Hopefully you'll get some relief. I had it mildly before and it did go. This was before I was pregnant, I think I had strained once, but not very much kinda thing.

Try drinking a little more water maybe? That may help?? I used to just get a wet and cold flannel to relieve any irritation and swelling down there, and I made extra sure it was clean after every bowel movement with gentle wet wipes (which also is much more relieving than dry tissue paper!)

I haven't had it so far during pregnancy and I'm hoping it doesn't for a while!!

I should think it'll go away after birth as long as you don't strain further. Apply cream, relieve swelling with cool flanels. I only had it incredibly mild before so I made sure not to strain and it went away and didn't get worse.

It's only if it gets worse that you may suffer after birth.

I have them too :( And I was constipated in first tri and never got them, but now all of a sudden I do and I've been regular and not straining?! I was told they can form from just the extra pressue and weight of being pregnant. Ugh! Have just been using over the counter creams...

Once they start unlikely to correct its self till after, as you get bigger then weight of baby pushing down (plus if your baby gets well engaged doesnt help) i think its just another 1 of them things you can get, just shame the recover time can be long.

Yes thats what term piles means :)

I have chronic hemroids. Get a donut pillow to sit on. You can also use witch hazel pads to clean the area every time you use the bathroom. You can use preparation H suppositories and the cream also. Sometimes if mine are really bad (so bad it feels like someone is stabbing me in the butt literally), i will make a little ice pack and leave it between my butt cheeks so it stays on the hemroids. That will shrink it down a little bit. And take plenty of fiber supplements. But honestly, nothing but time will help you.

Man, that is not what I wanted to hear. I am in so much pain, I can't sleep, sit, walk without the intense burning sensation. I'm using witch hazel pads but they only offer relief for a few minutes. Should I ask my dr to prescribe me a strong cream? Does it really help?

Creams may help if they are external, if they are internal like mine then nothing will help :(

I went to my dr and she prescribed me a cream so I'm hoping that will shrink it. So painful!
