Are you afraid to give your LO's dried fruit like apricots and raisins if they contain the ingredient sulfur dioxide?

I cannot find organic ones anywhere and I am googling it to find out how bad it is, but no real definitive answer. I mean, I eat them but I guess I am just a paranoid mom about what I give to my LO. I know it is just a preservative and I bet it is safe enough, and articles that say it is bad are probably based on if you eat insane amounts, but what do you do?

I give my LO loads of dried fruit, apricots, prunes, pineapple, mango, raisins, cranberries. Tbh I never even thought to check the ingredients. I don't know how harmful it is, but imo if I would eat it myself then I have no issue giving it to LO.

Ya many dried fruits contain sulfur. It is okay to give in moderation but if your baby has the G6PD deficiency, it is a no-no to give that. The Sulfur is dangerous for them amongst many other things.

You should be able to get natural-coloured ones without sulphur dioxide from a health food shop, like Holland & Barrett or Julian Graves. :)

Thanks for the responses so far. I am far from any stores that sell organic stuff, so I am stuck with non organic from the regular grocery. I also read it is bad if the baby has asthma, but I wouldn't know if she has asthma yet.

I guess I will just try it and not give too much for now. :)
