drinking from a cup

How long did it take your babes to get used to drinking from a cup?

My baby has just turned 5 months and is just starting to get a few tastes of food at the mo, so we will prob be starting weaning in the next few weeks. Did you introduce a cup at the same time or at another time?

Also do you recommend water or milk to start drinking from a cup?

i introduced a cup around the same time as i weaned her, and she took to it right away!! i think water is a good choice!!

We introduced hayden at 6mo, first with breastmilk but he wasnt' having that so then we just did water. He did pretty good, he never drank much until he was about a year because he just didn't need anything more than he was getting from nursing

We introduced a sippy cup at 9 months old, but it had nothing in it. Under a year they still need breastmilk or formula along with solids starting around 6 months. When we put things in the sippy it was water only at first. Then it was milk. Breastmilk is the only milk they can have before 1 year. Then it can be cows milk after they turn a year old.
