dtd timing?

TTC question ladies. I got a smiley face OPK on Saturday. DTD Saturday morning but not since as Jim "wasn't in the mood" - is that good or are you meant to dtd in the days after OPK?

Typically you should BD at least once before u expect the opk to turn positive and the day of, as you did, but also DTD again a day or two after the positive is much recommended as well. You CERTAINLY could still catch the egg with only bding when you did but that all depends on when u O. Opks will sometimes go positive for O but then O may delay. Specialists say to DTD every other day for your "5 day fertile period" (or everyday if dh has a good enough sperm count but every other day is just as good!) If you typically know ABOUT when ur OPK will be turning positive, plan to BD the day before and the day after. This insures that there will always be sperm awaiting the egg, even if u O a little earlier or later. You can't tell for sure if uve even oed after a +opk, as the surge can cause ur body to gear up for O but then delay. Have u ever tried temping? Temping would help greatly in pinpointing your exact fertile window. Its the only at home tool that can truly say your passed O. It goes along good w OPK since opks predict ahead of time but temping will confirm that O has passed so u know ur covered. But say you did indeed O 36-48hrs after ur positive opk on Saturday, there's a VERY good Chance that the sperm will meet the egg. It really only takes 1! Hopefully ull get ur bfp and wont even need to take any of the advice I just went on about, lol . There's alot more to TTC then I ever thought id know!
