I am due on saturday and i am so scared about the labour. this will be my 2nd baby and even though my first labour was easy going - just 2 and half hours in labour no problems etc I am just sooooo scared of the pain that is coming and really working myself up about it- please someone help and calm me down :) x

aw hun think its only natural to be scared hun you will be fine once them pains start you just want baby out i keep thinking about it to but i am going for a ep hun x x

imma ways to go still but when i think on it im either totally chill about it ('its gonna be fine') or i have major anxiety ('omg what if IT ALL GOES HORRRIBLY WRONG") :haha: when im anxious i jus push it out of my mind and come back to think on it in a better mood. nothing seems to help really ive tried completely avoiding the subject and totally immersing myself in books, videos, reading birth storys on here, etc.

at least you have the comfort of having had an 'easy' birth to focus on?? i dunno. as you can see im useless at calming myself

:hugs:

try and relax. being tense will make it worse. focus on your beautiful baby. and the fact you have done it once.

you will ace NO you will be fornomanal (spelling :) you can and have done this before. maybe some positive affirmations. using jasmine oil is really relaxing and smells sooooooooo good.

you can do it
you can do it
you can do it

I know how you feel, my first was so easy and all I had was gas and air, and cause I absolutely s*#^ing myself I have told the OH that I want all pain relief possible,

I feel more scared this time around too. Just really avoiding thinking about it (I have a lot longer to go!) but if i do at all I feel very freaked out by it. I think it must be knowing what to expect is worse for me than the unknown of the first time. Really do not like the thought of doing it again!

Last time I think reading as many birth stories and watching as many of those baby programmes as I could manage really helped - made me more immune if you know what I mean! Possible suggestion anyway!

Keep reminding yourself that........

the pains are just tired muscles.....NOT a sign that anything is wrong....its just muscles working and they get tired and sore.

this is nature! We women are designed for this!!

also.....remember that every contraction is doing SOMETHING.....think of it as another one crossed off the list! Lets say you have X amount of contractions to get through before baby appears....each one you have is another one closer!! x x x x
