a collapsed teat is when the baby is sucking so hard on the teat the air is coming out of the bottle and none is getting in so the teat instead of being round collapses in on itself until you pull out the teat and let some air into the bottle (you will see the air bubbles rushing into the milk) and it becomes normal again if that makes sense
its best to avoid it happenning as it gives babies more wind but most newer bottles have valves on the teat to prevent this from happenning not that theyre perfect
I say collapsed teat when I mean something like this (but obviously without the finger pushing it!)

Also when the neck bit of the teat gets sucked in and it has to 'pop' itself back out again
Thank you both for explaining.....at least i know what it is now.
It's just that ive read so many threads about them and thought...hmm.....have i come accross this with Jac and not known......just in case i shoudl have bought new teats or something LOL.
