I am 26 weeks, I did have my hair highlighted but as my sisters are mothers they are telling me I won't have time to brush it never mind anything else.
I would like to take it back to my natural colour and just a few bits of colour to break it up.
I have had a patch test from my salon as they won't do it without especially while pregnant.
Some people don't bat an eyelid when I say and others are like 'oh the baby'. I have asked the hairdresser how long it will need to be on for and said no more than 40mins.
Can anyone put my mind at ease that I can?

I've dyed my hair through both my pregnancy and just use ammonia free hair dyes and try not to do it too often. I used to be bright blonde but now I'm brunette it's not too bad, my roots don't show as much xx

Its better to be after 20 weeks, which you are.. Amonia free if possible.. But if not, thats fine too.. Ive read a lot on this and most just say not worth it in first tri

My hairstylist, whom I've seen for 10 years now, told me not before 12 weeks, after that anything is fine.
Just keep in mind that hormones can make a drastic difference. I used to take 20 mins to process highlights and this time it took almost 45 for the color to take!!

I have my hair bleached, had it done at 12 weeks, my hairdresser said its fine, and iv just put a semi permanent dye on my hair to make it bright purple, midwife doesn't have a problem with it and even joked about my hair being a different colour next time, i heard its about the fumes that people worry about but hairdressers still work through pregnancy so i cant see how the fumes are bad?

P.s this is my 4th baby and i also have a step son, but i still find the time to have my hair bleached every 6-8 weeks, im sure you will still have the time hun if you want to keep your hair highlighted then do it! X

Of course you can. You did a patch test which is advisable as your hormones can change the way you react to products and you may have an allergic reaction. You've done that part so theres no reason why you can't treat yourself.

Had my hair done before 16 weeks and my midwife was oh your hair looks lovely! My hairdressers was very well ventilated and TBH it made me feel a tonne better especially as I was suffering badly with MS

Ive dyed my hair 3 times so far with home dye kits, just make sure the room is well ventilated and baby will be just fine :) x

I've been coloring my hair since the beginning of my pregnancy. My cousin does my hair and she worked at her salon throughout her entire pregnancy without any complications.

Thank you all so much for replying. You have put my mind at complete ease and also my hubby's who goes mad when I touch my stomach any harder than a feather light touch in case I hurt her!!
I passed the responses to him to read and he's now content like me. I don't know what u would do without you all as my first pregnancy I'm forever reading to make sure its all 'normal'
