So my Dh and I had gone round and round in circles and had a few arguments and hurt feelings over naming our babies...

Last night we came up with one that is a contender possibly. The name is Elizabeth. Now I must point out we already have a daughter named Katherine, she is almost always Katherine to us, sometimes a Katie or KitKat or similar but NEVER KATHY!!!! We're having twin girls so we still have another name to find if we even settle on this one. I also will mention that Elizabeth is one of my middle names.

So what do you honestly think of the name?
Is it weird it's my middle name?
What nickname would you use with it? We both agree we don't like Beth or Liz but like the idea of Libby for a nickname if not using the whole name.
Also, saw the Elle was a nickname in one of our books but not sure if it was 'L' or 'L-E'??

Help! I've only got 12 days until my repeat section and the doctors don't even think I'll make it to 38 weeks.

I like Elizabeth, and most Libby's I know use the said Libby as a nickname. No it is not weird at all that it is your middle name! in some families it is actually traditional!

Here are some other suggestions you may like:
Isabeau (pornounced is-a-bow), Isabelle, Annabelle, Roseanne, Candice, Delilah, Amanda, Maddison, Amelia

My daughters middle name is Elizabeth, i love it.

I love the name...its on my list anong with Daisy, Violet, Eleanor and Matilda (i wouldnt use a nickname tbh but thats just me)

You already have Katherine which is lovely too.

Elizabeth was a close second when I decided on a girls name and if the next is a girl I plan on calling her Elizabeth. I love the nickname possibilities and I love that it is a classic beautiful name and it would go perfectly with Katherine. The nicknames I like are Lizzie, Eliza, Elsa, Liza, Ellie, and Bess.

Other names to go with Elizabeth:

Felicity
Cordelia
Charlotte
Georgina
Beatrice
Juliet
Margaret
Cecilia
Phillipa
Amelia
Penelope

c1403 - Daisy and Violet were the names DH REALLY REALLY wanted for the twins but I just couldn't fall in love with them even though I don't dislike them. They are super cute though.

Button - so many of the names you listed are ones that either DH or I like but we can't seem to agree.. argh. Annoying because I know we are generally approaching name picking the same but just have a different choice at the end. And Charlotte is my name so obviously it's awesome but already taken ;)

It's frustrating when OHs won't agree to our names! It must be difficult naming two, took me and OH ages to agree on one.

Haha, Button -- "It's frustrating when OHs won't agree to our names!" It's half their fault, too, so I figure they should at least get *some* say. :)

I'm biased, 'cuz my middle name is Elizabeth, but I think it's a great name. It's a very powerful female name throughout history, too, and couples well with Katherine.

I would suggest another strong female name for the other twin: how about Eleanor? Ella and Libby? Very cute.

I can't even say how happy I am to see someone considering the gorgeous, classic Elizabeth! I really adore it, and Libby is such a cute nickname.

I definitely would not go with Isabella as a twin name, since Isabella is a form of Elizabeth.. so it'd be like naming both of your girls the same name!

Names I think sound nice with Elizabeth:
Lydia
Laura
Abigail
Nina
Antonia
Miriam
Christina
Magdalen / Magdalene / Magdalena
Margaret (could use Meg/Maisie/Daisy as a nickname?)
Katherine
Susannah
Amelia
Victoria
Theresa / Therese (Tessa or Tess as a nickname would be perfect with Libby)

My favourite is Theresa!

My DF had no choice in Kezzy's name haha.

DH and I both have 'old people' names.. hehe so we've always like the classic names that stand the test of time. Our last name is rather eastern European sounding and they seem to work well together. I love the lists people are offering, Theresa is the middle name my sister is using for her LO who is technically due 3 days before me, and Katherine is my DD1. The names are in the right neighborhood, just not the right house yet.

I was thinking of Alexandra to go with Elizabeth.. Still thinking...

I love Elizabeth. I think Isabella goes with it really nicely or Amelia.
