early induction booked for tomorrow due to OC and bad SPD...help im scared!

Hi ladies, so i went to the hospital yesterday for more ctg monitoring and to collect the results of my latest blood tests. As some of you may know the midwives have concluded that I have OC as my bile acids in the liver have always been raised just a little above normal ranges.

Anyway, because the latest figures still came back raised, plus I have bad SPD, the midwife informed me that they want to induce using a pessary (if thats how you spell it)...on wednesday. This gave me less than 2 days to prepare. My hospital bag is all packed and ready thankfully, but im only 37 weeks gone. Although baby has measured big since day 1, im still a little nervous that she isnt ready to come out yet.

so the reason for this long ramble is really...Have any of you ladies been induced, if so how far gone were you, did the induction hormone work or did it result in the need for a section. Also, what birth weight were your babies and did they have any health problems after birth? sorry for the list of questions but i desperately need some reassurance here!!! thanks a lot xxx

Good luck with your induction tomorrow! I was induced at 39 weeks 1 day due to preeclampsia with my son. I was only finger tip dilated when they started. They put in a pill against my cervix overnight, and then started me on pitocin the next morning. Everything proceeded alright and I had my son by normal vaginal delivery around 9:30 that night. My son had breathing issues from meconium and had to be in the NICU for 12 hours, but he was fine after that. He had a little jaundice, as well, but not enough to require phototherapy. I hope everything turns out well for you. They generally only induce when there are better reasons for the baby to come out than to stay in, so just try to remember that.
