Early scan at 7+4 wks

Hi ladies,

I got my BFP last Friday. As it took me and my hubby a while to conceive, my fertility specialist has offered to do an early scan at 7weeks 4 days. Has anyone had one of these and what am I likely to expect?

Also - I have been having lots of cramps/dull aches in my uterus. Is this normal? It's nothing severe but they are noticeable.

I'm just nervous, that after all this time of trying and something finally happening, that something is going to go wrong and mess it all up. Is this a normal feeling?

7 weeks 4 days. I had one at 6 weeks 1 day and saw heartbeat and tiny baby with yolk sac.

I had a scan at exactly 7 weeks and saw the heartbeat and baby.

And yes it is normal to be nervous - I was relieved to see I wasn't crazy and there was a baby in there, LOL.

I saw my baby that looked like a blob of white and its wonderful little heart beating away. This was at 7+2.

From what I can tell and have read, mild cramps that come and go are normal as your uterus is stretching and your body is changing. I have them every few days or so too.

I see you are working with a fertility specialist, but if you are not 100% sure of your ovulation dates, etc, don't be surprised if baby measures a little further behind than 7w4d. So much goes into that - ovulation date, implantation date, how the baby is positioned when they measure, etc.

I had a scan at 7+4 and as the other ladies have said, we saw a heartbeat and tiny baby. That being said, baby was so tiny that we couldn't figure out what was what, hence the nickname Smudge
Just following up on what a pp said; dates can sometimes be out with IVF pregnancies too, although the do tend to be fairly accurate. At my 7 week scan, I measured a day ahead. I also had my 12 week scan this morning and despite the fact that I know I'm 12 weeks exactly, bub is measuring at 12+4 x

I had a scan today at 7 weeks and saw a tiny baby shape with very small arm buds and a heartbeat😁

Thanks everyone. I feel so clueless about all of this! I have ALOT to learn!

But I'm much more reassured now regarding the cramps.

I'm 99% pretty sure I ovulated Christmas Day but as for implantation...who knows! All I know is I started to feel symptoms (sore BB's) around 6dpo and got a very very faint BFP at 11dpo.

I can't believe that in 3 weeks time I would have heard its little heartbeat! Wow!
