early scan... inconclusive :(

So I should be 7+1 today. Have had no spotting, pain or bleeding. Went for early scan this morning and have been told its inconclusive. Gestational sac seen measuring 12mm and nothing else accordingto report. I need to arrange a further scan in 5-7days. Have been ttc now for 3 years. Had a mmc end of 2013 and chemical in may this year. Now this. it just seems so unfair. I cant help thinking now there must be something wrong for it to keep happening...

Not sure how dates could be wrong. I use an app to track periods and the times we bd. However I don't track ovulation and app just estimates this going on data logged.

Hi, I Went of Ovulation so the dy after the Positive was dpo1 at 8dpo I got a BFP! So would have been 7 weeks Monday but was put Back 4 days to 6weeks 1 day, due to the dates - Implantation can take Longer maybe? My Measurements was 5mm at 6 weeks Yesterday x

HUGS! You could have Oed later or maybe implantation took longer. Our bodies are regular until they aren't. I used the Free Menstrual Calendar to track my periods since 2009. I was 28 days, O day 14 since I was in 6th grade until last year when I got a cyst and BAM had a 60+ day cycle, then a 50+ day cycle, then my cycles ranged from 20-36 days for a while, and now they seem to have regulated to a 30 day cycle. Our bodies do weird things.

Is your doctor running blood HCG tests? I would highly recommend doing that, do one 2-3 days later, and one more 2-3 days later. I was pregnant when I got the cyst and my first scan at 6 weeks there was NOTHING. No sac, nothing. So my doctor had me doing blood HCG tests every two days for a week to make sure my levels were doubling and scheduled me for another scan a week later. Turned out, I had my dates wrong and wasn't as far along as I thought. Ultimately, I made the choice to not continue the pregnancy because my cyst was so huge the danger of losing the ovary was too high. It was really difficult at the time, but yeah. Point is. Get some bloodwork done and stay positive.

I went for a scan this week & was told that i was 7+4 weeks, this is my first pregnancy & its through IVF. All they could see was an empty sack & told me to prepare for the worst. We have a follow up scan booked for Wednesday & i am praying that they have just got my dates wrong or something.
I truly feel what you are going through & i hope that we both get the outcome that we deserve, sending x

sometimes early scans give more upset than not having 1 my last preg mine was the same a week later there was a heartbeat if there is no bleeding thats a really good sign hugs hun xx

oh and apps wont be accurate so thats prob why you are a week or so out x

If it gives you any relief, my periods are regular and I thought I avoided ovulation and my period was a week late, blood test was negative...at 2 weeks later I had a positive hpt and blood test....come to find out I didn't get pregnant till the day my period was due....therefore putting me 2 weeks behind where they thought I should have been!

At 7 weeks they should see hb, fetal pole etc....what I'm thinking as above posters mentioned is your earlier than you think. Also if the scan wasn't internal this is also an issue. I'm really praying for you hun. Xx

Can't be that much earlier as had bfp on 16/12. Was tv scan as have a tilted uterus. ..

A 12mm gestational sac correlates with a pregnancy about 6 weeks along (reference: https://www.womenshealthsection.com/content/obsdu/obsdu2.gif)

So you may have definitely ovulated later than you thought and got a really early bfp.

From what I have read sometimes people are able to see a yolk sac and fetal pole by 6 weeks, but others say they didn't see these till a little later on at a repeat scan.

i think you may just be earlier than you think. i went for a scan at what i thought was 5w6d but turns out i was only 4-5w. fingers crossed for you xx

I was 11 days less pregnant than I thought I was. My days matched perfectly. Knew when I ovulated. Implantation just took longer than normal.

Please try not to worry. I had a scan at a day shy of 6 weeks and was told there was no fetal pole etc. to expect another mc (I fell pregnant straight after a mc). Went back at a week later and there was a happy little baby with a heartbeat
