Hello ladies! Lets start a thread for our Earth Day babies!!! GO GREEN!!! 
I got exactly what I wanted my son arrived on Earth Day. I was induced on April 21st, @ 8 am. I did not request the date, it was just what I was given. I then realized that the next day would be Earth Day, so I secretly hoped my labor would last a little longer. lol Well it did, I had my son Zachary James @ 12:45 am April 22nd 2010... Earth Day! I was in labor about 14 hours. It was way easier than I had imagined, I had totally imagined worst case scenario! From 8 am I was at a 1 and 50%, they used a bulb to ripen my cervix. By noon I was at a 4. The contractions weren't unbearable. I did get stadol, although I felt I didn't really need it badly. And I really regretted getting it! It made me feel too drugged and out of it. I couldn't wait for it to wear off. I got the epidural after that. It worked pretty good and the stadol had worn off. Well it took from noon to midnight to get from 4 to 10! And he was here by 12:45. After 30 mins of pushing! I couldn't believe it! He was so beautiful. I started crying my eyes out! And his daddy was by my side the whole time, he was wonderful, as were the nursing team they were all cheering me on while I was pushing. It was an awesome experience. I am so glad that I had him vaginally, as I had considered an elective c-section because I was SO terrified of labor! And lil Zachary was wide awake and alert after birth. He was extremely mellow, he cried when he came out but after I held him and talked to him he stopped crying and wouldn't cry again that night! They sent him to the nursery for observation but he was perfectly fine, just content to be out in the world. 
Well not things are just a little bit different! lol He's your typical newborn.
So my lil man is 2 weeks old today!
