East Surrey or Princess Royal (Haywards Heath)

I had my first midwife appointment yesterday which went great but was really shocked that I have to choose my hospital NOW!
The docs aren't sure yet if I am 6 or 10 weeks, but will be having a scan in 2 weeks time.
Does anyone have any experience giving birth in either of these hospitals (including pre and post care) or had friends that have been to either of these hospitals?
At the moment I'm inclined to go for Haywards Heath as I dislike East Surrey hospital from being in there previously and my Granddad dieing there, but obviously I know that the labour wards are run very differently.
Any info would be much appreciated, thanks xx

I live in Burgess Hill so just by you (ish)!!! The Princess Royal in Haywards Heath is great, the staff there are lovely although I do not know the labour ward but have been in for loads of different things over the years and have always been treated well.

What do you think you are date wise from lmp?

I think I'm 6 weeks tomorrow personally, but midwife thinks 10 due to light period and neg ovulation tests

I live in Burgess HIll too! Just been to the Pricess Royal for my blood tests and I think it is a really nice hospital. My sister also had her twins there and so I was visiting alot and again I thought is was a good hospital. However I have not been to East Surrey so cant compare!

LittleMum, I am 6w5d, due 30/10. Yes this will be my first. I have a scan on Tuesday as I had some spotting earlier in week and had a scan and this is a follow up to ensure growth but it is at Sussex County as Princess Royal did not have any appointments last week.

i have been wondering the same thing!! Ive put down East Surrey but you can change your mind as long as you gove enough time. Ive been to East Surrey for various other things and didnt get the treatment/care i wouldve liked!! I had to go in just after christmas as i had hyperemesis, was literally throwing up everything so i asked for some ice cubes and they made me wait for four hours before i got any, i had to be helped to and from the toilet as my sickness injection had made me extremely dizzy and light headed so when i buzzed to be helped back to my bed they left me in there for nearly 10 mins until i stumbled back to my bed without help!! Im really thinking of going to Haywards Heath!! x
