Does anyone find this story far-fetched? Social worker visits everyday, her saying she's not there for Lola just making sure she's caring for Lexi, telling them to clean up, constantly going on about her nappy rash? :nope: I don't think I want to watch after tonight's episode. It really upset me. It's making teen mothers out to all be these bad mums who have to be watched over constantly. And as for that girl saying that Lexi was dead and calling her ugly.. I just think it's too far. It's really upset and angered me :growlmad:

As much as I hate to say this, Ee is not far from the truth. I'd like to start by saying my opinions are not based on the entire social services system, I'm sure there are fantastic social workers out there but unfortunately I haven't met not 1 of them. 2 years ago my son was born, me and my wife did everything humanly possible to ensure he had a great upbringing. We introduced him to nursery as soon as we could to socialize him as early as possible and this was our biggest mistake. The nursery took it upon themselves to contact social services because my wife has very mild learning difficulties, if we hadn't said anything they would never have known. Before I knew it I had a visit from child services by the regional manager, no joking, the first sentence to leave her mouth was "you do reralize this could result in your son being taken into social care". Now she didn't know me from Adam and let's say for arguments sake I was some unstable drug addicted alcoholic, can u imagine the repercussions that one statement could have had. Anyway we went through a year and a half of hell, lies, twisted truths the lot, and nobody cared, never have I felt so isolated and helpless, stress and sleepless nights began to take there toll, knowing just how fragile family life could be and at any point my one reason for living could be taken away at any point on someone's say so was absolutely horrifying. I really hate to try and discredit social services but unfortunately a few bad apples spoil the barrel and never again will I trust a social worker. In a nutshell, I saw very similar behavior between our social workers and that on eastenders, someone writing that script must have had experience like mine to write that. I was always under the impression that there was " no smoke without fire ", until we experienced it I honestly couldn't believe that such manipulative liars existed, especially in a profession like that.I really feel worried that how many people previously has fallen foul of their lies and not be so lucky to keep their child/rental. Makes me so sad.

This whole story has really put me off EE tbh! :(

It really upset me tbh. I've been saying to oh since the storyline started how frustrating I found the social worker, how nit picky she is over things like the dishes not being done and nappy rash (which I thought most baby's got at some point?). She was acting more like a teacher or interfering mother or something. You could just tell she'd already passed judgement on Lola before she'd even stepped through the front door (which i guess is how they intended to portray her?). The way she was all like "I told you to tidy that up earlier" I mean wtf? How many mums can honestly say they managed to keep on top of the housework 100% of the time with a young baby to look after?

What makes it worse is you've got Michael literally across the square, trying to off load his baby onto anyone and anything, who leaves her crying upstairs whilst he sits and watches tv and who clearly isn't coping or meeting her needs. If it was real life I know who I'd rather social services keep tabs on.

And don't get me started on the 'girl gang'! I know it's not real and everything but I found the part where she was saying all those awful things about Lexi so upsetting, it made me feel so protective of my bump. Just the thought of anyone saying such awful things to an innocent baby makes me well up. That's Eastenders for you though, they do things for effect and a reaction and tbh that's what they've got.

This story made me Angry. Lexi wasn't in any danger. So what if there's dishes to wash and alcohol around. Who has a super clean /tidy house with a small baby? I'd be more worried with a super clean house. There are so many kids in worse situations. Drugs, neglect, abuse... These kids get missed all the time. Stupid story line.
Plus just because Michael has money, scarletts ok? He's much more unstable than lola.

I hate this storyline.
I cried my eyes out when they took Lexi.
Its giving a grim view of SS.
But a more positive one of teen mums.

xx

It's just annoyed me that they think she needs someone watching over her 24/7 because she's a teen and has got into a bit of trouble before. Like someone said, it's just embarassing they've put Michael in there, giving his baby to whoever and leaving it wherever and SS aren't on his back. He's the one that really needs help. I hate both those storylines. It's really putting me off Eastenders. I know they like the shock factor but I've found it really quite offensive and distressing :nope:

Its actually put me off in becomming a Social Worker :(

I never wanted to punch a tv charecter more as i wanted to punch that social worker.
Although drippy Alice is a close second.

Same, she's just so nit picky argh! She could go into anyone's home and see clutter and washing up that needs to be done even if they don't have kids! That's just life some people don't have time to maintain a sparkling home all the time.

As I said on Facebook, I don't know how I'm managing to still watch EE. I've never had an experience with SS (don't ever want to either) but I never envisioned them being that bad, constantly on the girls back, and like a PP said who has a spotless house with an small child? I think the only reason I'm still watching is to see what Phil does to help her

He's not going to help her - he's going to try and get custody of Lexi :growlmad:

I would have been upset/offended by this story line had it not been so unrealistic.
I've not had run ins with social workers myself (pray I'll never have to) but really, do they have time to be visiting ONE teen like 3 times in one day? I don't think so.
Eastenders storylines are always really stupid, i just cant stop watching it :/

does lola get lexi back?

it really upset me when they took her away honesty if that social worker walked in my house she would have had a fit a have 3 kids and the house is never spotless.

Aha I don't even have any kids yet and my house is never spotless!

Although I must admit lolas house does look a bit grotty, think its more to do with the wallpaper though!

Lol, me either. TBF I don't know anyone with kids that does have a spotless house. Mines a lived in house which I much prefer as do the kids. :)

The whole storyline is irritating me, its only going to get worse aswell with Phil going for custody. I mean who in their right mind would even consider him for custody, an on/off alcholic, a killer for a son and a list longer than his arm of previous convictions.

As well as being an ex drug addict:wacko: Can't wait for the storyline to be over tbh, it's ridiculous.

I read on Digital spy that someone comes and gives Lola the help she needs to get Lexi back. Hoping it won't drag on too long :nope:

Especially as Roxy comes across as such a terrible mum but yet she doesnt get a visit from SS, so far fetched.

Its a story line which is really close to the bone with most people. I know its not real but the sad truth is it could happen. I know they're just trying to get viewers with contraversial storylines but haven't they already had their fair share of baby drama after the whole Ronnie and Kat and even the teenage pregnancy with Demi a few years ago.

They don't treat teenage mothers well and it makes me so angry. I was 19 when I got pregnant with Lily. Still a teenage mother!
