Mylo has never been a great eater. He weaned late (9-10months) even though I tried from 5 months.. and he eats 3 basic meals a day that I feed him on my lap. consisting of baby powders mixed in with baby pasta or mash potato or other softish stuff I can whizz up quick.
ANYWAYS.. in between the three meals I offer finger foods.. yet he will NOT sit down to eat them. he walks around.. almost looks like he has to walk to chew successfully!! Its a nightmare!

When I feed him his meals he loses intrest after mouthful number 5 or 6 and wants to get down but if I let him I know he wont finish his dinner. I have to distract him and physically stop him trying to get off my lap.

He wont eat pudding after or anything.
I had a high chair but he screamed blue murder in that after 10 mins. I am about to order a healthy care chair booster thingy to put him in and hopefully he can sit alongside us when we have our dinner.. but am I wasting my money?

He has just learnt to walk and maybe its that he likes the new feeling of being mobile?
or am I setting myself up for a problem eater in toddlerhood?

I just cant get him to sit and take intrest in what he is being given to eat. :(
Does anyone elses baby like to walk around and eat the finger foods rather than sit still?

Sometimes we have little picnics on the floor and river will wall around eating.

I wouldn't force any food or make him sit anywhere he doesn't want to as that could cause issues around food. I always think they will eat when their ready. he wont starve himself.

It may drive you nuts, but it's normal :flower: They seem to prefer eating on the run :haha: My first two kids never used a high chair and I am really hoping Jed does, but I can already see he gets really squirmy in it :dohh:

oh cool.. i can stop worrying then. thanks girls..

didnt want issues on eating in the future.

Mine is younger than ur LO, but he won't sit still in his highchair to eat. I give him food when he's crawling, or when he's walking around in his walker. He only takes few baby spoons & then closes his mouth. He doesnt show any interest in food or even bottles. He's not picky but not interested. I give him finger food when he's playing, he takes 1 or 2 bites before throwing it, then goes on playing. I tried to have him with us during meals but it was a nightmare.
