1) Do you like the name Eden?

2) Would it be ok to pair it with last name Beatty pr. - if called Edie they would rhyme "E-D B-D"

Eden Beaty works I think* but not the Edie nn So:

Eden Rose Beaty

We can't seem to settle and this is one we both like.

Thanks! I figure if we correct anyone calling her that early on it will be fine. And if someone calls her that in school to make fun of her, well there are a lot worse things I can think of. I think saying it is sorta funny though I much prefer Eden. I think Eden is short enough that it doesn't need a nickname.

I think Eden is lovely! I had a dream early on in my pregnancy that we had a little girl and called her Eden but sadly DH isn't keen. I can't see that the rhymy thing will be a problem either. I wouldn't think to call someone called Eden 'Edie'. xx

I think it's a nice name but Edie Beaty sounds too much like the start of nursery rhyme. Kids can find the silliest things funny and if there was a song that could be REALLY annoying for LO.

I love the name Eden, its on our list but hubby keeps pooh pooing it, however when I have said it to people, here in the uk, they have said quite American sounding (not that theres anything wrong with that)

Thanks everyone! Now we have Eden and Liv and just getting to those two was a struggle so I am happy to leave it at that! And Even though I love Liv I am leaning toward Eden because I can use Rose (with Liv I would use another middle name to break up Liv and Rose and then could not use my maiden name as a second middle name).

So Eden Rose K. Beatty it is and is, in part due to your positive feedback! I appreciate your responses

I LOVE it, but then I am rather biased as its my daughters name lol! She is Eden Starr and very often is called Edie. I really like Eden Rose its beautiful

I love love love Eden!! Will defo be on my short list when the time comes!! Eden Rose goes beautifully!! Even if people her Edie its still lovely! I think that you can always pick things with names that arent perfect but Eden Rose Beatty is a gorgeous name!x
