Edinburgh Royal Waiting list Any Ideas?

Hi hun you sound a wee bit down :( hope your okay?!! Your doctors surgery sounds exactly like mine!! I wonder if we are at the same one?!?! I can never get an appointment either and whenever I call at 0830 its ALWAYS engaged and they are always soooo BUSY yet it seems whenever I do get an appointment the waiting room is never that busy?! I can never get an appointment with my doctor either and I feel seeing different docs at each appointment just complicates things.

At least your form is in now! In the meantime I know its agony having to wait and time just seems to drag but constantly thinking about it just makes you go crazy or at least it does with me. You mention your on holiday for two weeks - are you going away? That may help to take your mind off things. What are you taking just now vitamins and herbs wise? Is your OH taking anything?? Hows the diet going?

I started the agnus castus and I am also taking pregnacare. OH is taking vitamin C and Zinc daily. I have not handed the form in yet I have to wait until OH can hand in second SA test. They have to be 4 weeks apart and with us both working shifts its difficult at times to fit it in as the sample (as you prob know) has to be handed in tue - fri between 0830 and 0930. grrr! I have accepted that I am not going to be seen at the clinic until next year and so I suppose if I do get an appointment before it will be a bonus. In the meantime we are eating healthier and continuing with vitamins. We are off on hol after next week and going to go away so trying to concentrate on that. I went back to docs yest (popped in at lunch time and they just "happened" to have an app!) and they are going to get advice from endocrine and if they agree they will start me on Metformin :happydance:

Hope your feeling a bit better today keep in touch and hopefully you will get your appointment through very soon xx

Feel a bit better now thanks , just the docs surgery annoys me! They need to look at the whole of the nhs, (waiting times)...

I started arranging appointments with the same doctor but just got to long to wait last time i was told 5weeks omg!!,,,, So gave in and see a dif one every time, But its not to bad if you go in knowing what u want,,,

It's a wee relief that the form is in, but knowing that 12 weeks,,,, Will need to keep myself preoccupied,,, My husband's family live up north so we are going up for a visit, really looking forward to it. I don't share that we are ttc with family yet so not thinking about it will do me good i think/hope.

I haven't decided what to take to be honest I am just reading up on it now, I am thinking soy and soft cups and my usual daily intake of folic acid,,, Diet is a nightmare due to my bad day I had a doner kebab and some serious chocolate lol , But lost 6lb so far,,, starting a fresh tom,,,

Agnus castus is meant to be good for pcos have you been on it for long? My oh ain't taking anything yet he's still going in hot baths once a week argh men!

It is a nightmare with times I mean 1 hour to hand it in,, are use doing a home one or when he gets there? Soon as it's done the wait begins so hopefully you get it in soon and least you know your names in,,, and we just have the wait! and when you think about its not to long in the sense that i seen selection boxes in tescos the other day,,, then i went into asdas and seen an xmas tree,, its either far to early or not long go, I choose the latter due to our circumstances,,lol

Are you going away on your hols? Thats good that you can get metformin from the docs :happydance:

x

Hi glad your feeling a bit better today. I know how frustrating it is with the docs surgerys and infact the NHS as a whole the waiting times are getting worse. I work for the NHS so im used to the fact that everything takes sooooo long :growlmad:!! Always tomo for the diet - 6lbs is fab well done! I am really hoping the Metformin is going to help me lose some of the weight. The GP said it should - got about a stone to lose and would ideally like to lose it before being seen by FS.

I know one hour to hand it in is rubbish he did it at home and then drove in to the hospital with it. Going to get the other one in soon and then get the form handed in and then at least I know its done. Then just a waiting game from there!! :coffee:

I think going up north for a break will be fab for you and help you take your mind off it. Sometimes its just sooo nice not to talk about fertility or babies etc and so in a way its nice when people dont know. (especially those who have kids or are pregnant and keep saying "just relax and it WILL happen!!") pffft!!

We were meant to be going away and then cancelled as were going to be moving house but then those plans changed so we are going to get something booked up (possibly Italy) just to get away. That week will be exactly one year since we started ttc. I know one year isnt long compared to some women and that we are in a way lucky that we have a diagnosis but we really thought we would have at least been pregnant by now :nope: so hopefully by getting away we can concentrate on things other than bloody PCOS and SA!!!! lol!!

I know what you mean about christmas coming soon. I noticed the christmas puddings are out in Asda already and it will fly by this time of year always does. Apparently we are going to get snow in early October too so we will have that to contend with again!!

I started Agnus Castus about 2 weeks ago so not really noticed anything yet. Hoping it will help my body to produce more progesterone as the doc told me yest my last set of bloods showed my progesterone level to be less than 3 which is apparently far too low for ovulation. It can only help and makes me feel like im doing something until I am seen in clinic. X
