Editing posts?

Why can't I edit my own posts? I'm guessing this is something to do with how long I've been a user but I don't know.
Sometimes I spot a typo after posting and I can't do anything about it!
Anyway, the list of things I can and can't do, it says can't edit own posts

you will be able to edit posts......just post some more in threads and it will allow you. I am not sure the number of posts you need though.

I think it's either 5 or 10 posts before you can edit
