The post just arrived and I opened one of the letters - you couldn't see the name as it was hidden from the window in the envelope but it was clearly our address. It said on the envelope it was from a court, and I was really scared....

Inside was a letter about bail conditions for this woman who I have never heard of in my life - stating that she must attend court tomorrow morning at 10am or there will be a warrant out for her arrest and the offences were having an offensive weapon in a public place and assaulting a police officer.

The conditions of bail are that she must live and sleep every night at this address to make sure she goes to court for the next hearing.

I got all scared and phoned DH at work in a panic, he is now phoning the court to see what to do but I wonder why this woman has given our address? Or if it has been a genuine mix up with a computer looking up her address....I have no idea how these things work!

Just waiting for DH to phone me back to see what the court said but I don't want the police turning up here breaking our door down if she doesn't turn up for court in the morning!

OMG, just googled the woman and she came up in articles in the local paper from the last few years, she has been done in the past for supplying heroin and possession with intent to supply....I don't know how they got our address because she lives in a completely different area of town.....

Didn't want to r&r but OMG that is scary especially if the woman gave your address. Hopefully your dh can sort it out and you don't have any police knocking in the meantime

I know, it's really scary! I just texted DH to see if he had managed to speak to the court and he texted back that he has, he will phone me shortly and he is just on the phone to the police....I want to know what's going on! x

OMG, she has been giving out our address for the past year!!!!!! DH just spoke to a detective sergeant in major crimes and that's what he was told. She is now going to be arrested regardless of whether or not she turns up for court in the morning. x

Omg what a cheeky cow!! I'm glad she's getting arrested.

Thanks ladies :) I'm just surprised we haven't had the police at the door in the past year looking for her! I wonder why she picked our address - it's totally nowhere near where she lives, and we don't even know the woman.

The police are going to notify all the appropriate people so nothing happens regarding our address. x

Wow how scary! I'm glad everything is getting sorted. Hope they find her soon to arrest her!

that would've freaked me out, think i'd be even more freaked out about her giving your address out for the last year :?

OMW that is scary... I'd be paranoid that she's show up at my house. Glad it's all sorted, hopefully they get her soon x

Eek glad it's getting sorted now. How long have you lived there? It might be an old address she has once lived at if not in recent years maybe as a child so she knew the address and gave it instead of giving a made up address! x

How long have you lived at your current address? Is it possible she or someone she knew may have lived there previously and just not bothered to pass on a change of details? Just a thought. Don't be scared - it clearly has nothing to do with you so you have nothing to worry about :D

It's surprising you've not been contacted before now f she's been giving out your address for the past yer! Thank god she's getting arrested lol xx

Oh my how scary is that! Its a good job you opened it!" x

That is scary glad its sorted though :flower:

It always amazes me how people can get away with doing things like that though, OH's brother is no angel and is forever in court for one thing or another, so none of us really kept track, it was only when his mums house was raided for drugs that it came to light someone had been using his name and address, the only reason the other person was caught out was because at the time he was actually in prison so couldnt have been also sat in the police station!!

How scary for you. Like others have said maybe her or someone she knew used to live at your address so she thought it was a good address to give as she knew it existed. Hope its been sorted now xx
