My LO has been raelly fussy for the past few days (probably longer than that now!) She is refusing to latch on for ages, just screaming at my breast, but I know she's hungry! She gives all the feeding cues, or wont have fed for a few hours etc. But she'll jsut scream at my breast, and pull away before she's even latched! Or she'll suck once or twice then scream again! Eventually she'll latch, but she doesn't feed like she did before. She'd feed for 10 minutes before and get more than enough, now she's on for at least half an hour, and she feeds more often too. Yesterday, she was on the boob for an hour and a half, and I eventually took her off as she kept falling asleep and I was getting frustrated. 45 minutes later she was demanding to go back on! I'm exhausted

Today I fed her about 8.15am for about half an hour, then again about 9.30 for about 45 minutes, then she was screaming at NCT postnatal meeting to be fed (about 11am) but she jsut screamed at my nipple and wouldn't latch properly, so I gave up  When we were back home later she was on me constantly (or screaming if she wasn't) up until about half an hour ago. She's got her dummy in now and is asleep on DH.

I haven't pumped today in fear of draining off my breasts if they're full (Full? yeah right they don't get a chance anymore!) and she may get frustrated if the flow is too slow. I actually miss when I was engorged cause I knew she was getting lots of milk, but now I feel like she's not getting enough as she feeds for sooo long, gets frustrated, and now tries to feed so much  I'm really struggling here!!

ETA: SHe does have a max of one bottle of EBM a day sometimes (I won't let her have more than one) but it's not every day. It has been every day for the last week or so but before then it was sparingly. She will need EBM on Saturday when DH has her while I'm on a First Aid course, so she as having EBM while I was pumping for another feed for Saturday (the milk I had in the fridge wouldn't have lasted until then). I oumped inbetween feeds before to get the EBM, but there is no "in between feeds" anymore at the moment :dohh:

I remember having days like that when my lo was that same age. Sometimes it would be hours before I could get a snack or even a shower. Just hang in there :) It doesn't last forever. Have you tried white noise for your fussy eater? My lo still has fussy moments when eating but white noise is a savior! She immediately calms down, suckles away & usually snoozes for a little bit. You should try it, maybe itl'll help you out.

Yep, the hairdryer practically lives at my side :( She's not interested in phone apps/recorded sounds, it has to be the real thing:dohh: It makes her go to sleep or calm down, but as soon as I turn it of it starts again. I can't afford to have the hairdryer on all day :dohh: Plus, I can't put her down! She'll fall asleep after a feed, but if I try to transition her to a carrycot etc so I can go for a much-needed wee or get some food as I wouldn't have eaten for ages, she screeeaaams!!

We were like this for the first 8 weeks :hugs: it will get easier it sounds like a growth spurt just let her nurse for as long as she wants and when she wants it will pass in a few days :hugs: just make sure you eat and drink plenty :hugs:

I don't have any advice as I am only one week in and this sounds super familiar already, but hang in there!

I don't have much advice for the fussieness i'm afraid as my LO is the same and i STILL have no idea how to stop her doing it :dohh: just hoping she grows out of it.
However i can help with your lack of food problem, every morning before DH goes to work i get him to look after LO while i make myself a packed lunch box with all stuff that can be eaten with one hand, and i put it in the fridge for later. then when it gets to lunch time I go to the fridge (with LO still attached to my boob! :haha:) and get my bait box.
unfortunately i still have no solution for the lack of toilet breaks! :(
