Hello all

I'm booked in for an elcs next Wednesday when I'll be 39+6 but have had a few comments recently from others that this is 'late' for an elective.

Has anyone had or been booked for one at almost 40 weeks instead of earlier? Experiences?

Hey hun,

Snap! I'm also booked in next wednesday when I will be39 +4.I feel like I just waiting to go into labour before hand! Started feeling restless at night just waiting for something to happen.
Next weds in the earliest they could get me in...

How are you feeling? X

I'm feeling exactly the same! Loads of pressure low down & lots of pain, have a feeling this LO might try to make an appearance sooner! Maybe we'll have it all over by the time Wednesday rolls around......... X

I've been feeling things may happen sooner too!
I had my son at 38+5,so that's today this pregnancy! I notice he is a similar age to your boy, born end August 2011 =o)

Do you know what you will do if you were to go into natural labour? I'm just keeping my legs crossed.lol

X

I think I'd panic!! If I go into labour on my own then I can have a trial but the thought of going through that to maybe end up with a section anyway scares me, what have you planned? Such a hard decision.

Any signs so far today?

Morning!

Yeah I think I will panic to.
They have said I can still have a section, but I worry if I turned up in labour they may just leave me!
No signs as yet, just had a walk on the treadmill at the gym =o)
How are you?
X

I'm starting to think I should have asked for an earlier one!! 39+0 sounds perfect! I'm so bad at waiting and worry that something might go wrong or happen before my appt.

I wish I had the energy for a treadmill walk, instead I've just been to lunch and am munching on a cupcake :haha:

How come they give you the date so late on into pregnancy...ive got a consultant appointment at 35 weeks and ive been told ill get the date then...I bloomin hope so. xx

I had a hospital appt at 36 weeks and they went through the options at that so I've had my date since that appt x

I think my section is so late as that's as soon as they could fit me in,probably also because its my choice to have a repeat section rather than medically needed.

Loui I may have had a walk on the treadmill but I did follow it up with a mince pie =o)
Are you in the UK? Xx

I don't feel so bad now, but I did follow my cupcake up with an apple turnover  I'm in NI Hun, whereabouts are you?

At my appt they gave me the option of going over by a few days before scheduling a section but I was a bit afraid of the rupture risk so didn't want to do that, nearly everyone else I know that has has electives has had them round the 38/39 week mark though so I was wondering if a 40 week one was outside the norm. I'm such a worrier

Hey,

I'm a worrier too =o) although been quite chilled until this last week!
Is your hospital quite a busy one? We are in the midlands and the hospital is a city centre one so always busy hence why they couldn't fit me in earlier.
Did they say what would happen if you went into labour before hand?

X

Ah I'm always worrying about something.......usually small things though!
If I go into labour naturally I can have a trial of labour (I think it's about 6 hours) but if LO doesn't come by then it would be a section. Eek eek eek
