How exciting! We have the same elf door, my LO's are super excited. How in the heck are you going to change their bedding while they sleep?! I can't even imagine :haha:

well my thinking is to take two of my pillows, put them on there and quickly switch the pillows, for the duvet i'll just steal it and whack a blanket over. my oldest is a really deep sleeper and the youngest wont really know what i'm doing.

or .. it could be a total disaster :dohh:

the elf door is great isn't it!

I reckon I'd get away with it for my DS but DD would give me a black eye, she's like a wild cat when she's woken up :haha:. Good luck! :)

We didn't get back from visiting family until 2am so only Evie was awake enough to put out the elf door!

They woke up to a letter and advent calendars this morning :D

I was just coming downstairs when I heard Evie shout "Jinx has came back, Jinx is here", she was so excited it melted my heart :cloud9:

Very cute idea! This is our 1st year doing the elf thing; we're doing a kindness elf. I feel clueless with what to do with him though, lol! He showed up this morning with their box of wrapped Christmas books for December.

^^We're doing a kindness fairy. I couldn't find an elf doll I liked so I went with a Christmas fairy instead, lol.

Today Katye Snowflake (DD named her last year) stopped by and asked them to make ornaments for other people and to decorate the tree, leaving the supplies to do so of course. I think my favorite activity this year will be to candy cane bomb a parking lot, can't wait!

Our elves turned up this morning. DS found a note attached to the living room door and ran in. I heard him shout, "Elfys back guys. And he's upside down in mummy's Christmas tree, look mila"
We read the letter and elfy had bought along 2 new elves for the kids ( OH forgot to order a second one and I knew there would be arguing over who got to hold him). DS took all three elves to school elfy did a quick meet and greet with DS friends and teachers before I brought them all back home again. Turns out ds actually thought it was Christmas today. Both kids had a box with 24 new books each, 3 advent calendars, a new hat each, cd with Christmas songs and an activity pack. Both kids are fast asleep with the elves now. Before bed ds and OH were sat chatting to the original elf and one of the new ones and DS was saying how he missed him and is glad he could come back to visit. It's so sweet. DD keeps kissing hers.

I was just going to hide my elf around the house but I had a quick look on the Internet and found loads of really simple ideas so now I'm so excited, ours isn't 'arriving' until the weekend when the decorations go up though

I can't imagine going to sleep with the usual bedding and waking up to Christmas bedding! They'll be so excited. What a wonderful surprise for them!

I got the idea from here:

Simply put: You leave candy canes with nice little notes on people's cars.

I really want to do one but can't justify thirty pounds for an elf! x
