Heard this name today and love it :cloud9: Could be Elsie for short.

Opinions?

hmm not sure..it doesnt roll off the tongue too easily..maybe im pronouncing it wrong lol..but i like elsie..i think its cute, it was my great-grans name and it one of sophias middle names (sophia jean elsie) :) x

I was also wondering how to say it. How is it pronounced? I like the look of it though.

apparently Elsa can be a nickname too.

Its said very much as it's written

Elle-speth (but it runs together smoother than that)

It's a Scottish name. Dont know how else to describe how to pronounce it.

hey my friend is called Elspeth (were in scotland so makes sense you mentioned its scottish lol!) anyway i only found out after knowing her for nearly a year her name was elspeth. Iv always called her Joy Which is her middle name. basically she hates it that much she has everyone call her by her middle name  i have to admit too im not keen on it but i do like elsie :)

xx

I love it!!! I read a book (The Belonging Place by Jean Little) when I was little and that's the name of the little girl in the book! It could have actually been Elspet.. but I think it's pretty much the same name, no? I love it both ways though. I'm a fan of E names BTW

Elspeth is a lovely name - I 've liked it for ages.

Not for me. Makes me think of primitive medicine. Dont know why

I like the name Elspeth a lot ~ I am kinda into quite oldy fashioned sort of names as a rule though. I have a really good friend called Elspeth and most people tend to shorten it to Eppie.

:flower:

I know a little girl who is christened Elspeth, it's a lovely name. You can shorten it to Ellie as well x

Love love love it!
Unfortunately I know one person called it and it would remind me of them too much. I need to meet some other people called it really..

Ooooh! Really like Elspeth! If I hadn't already settled on Esmé for a girl then Elspeth would definitely be a contender!
