I've been to see my MW today and baby is measuring 37 weeks at 31 weeks pregnant and she says since she last saw me my stomach seems to have gone like a rock so she thinks I'm carrying too much water as she found it really difficult to feel position of the baby. She's booked me in for an emergency scan on friday, I'm gonna be so nervous now til then!!
Does anyone have experience with this, is it dangerous? I'm not home at the minute but MW told me DO NOT read up on it and scare yourself until you've haf the scan... Which makes me want to look even more!!!

I was the same but measuring too small and squishy so she thought not enough water.... Went for emergency scan and although baby is a little bit smaller than she should be, it's nothing to be worried about for the moment but il need regular scans..... Hopefully it'll be the same sort of thing for you. Iv been told by people countless times that the fundal measurement can be really inaccurate.
Good luck and try not to worry xxxx

No advise Kirsty but let us know how you get on, will be thinking of you xx

hope the scan goes well xxx

I had too much fluid when I had my scan at 28 weeks - stomach was huge and hard and they couldn't feel where the baby was.

I googled and scared myself half to death as they always state the worst case scenarios. I would recommend you don't look it up.

At my 32 week scan, my fluid had resolved itself down to normal levels and the midwife and consultant said that it usually resolves itself. My baby won't be small though (will be about 9lb when born according to charts).

See what they say at the scan and then it can be taken from there. If you do have excess fluid then you can discuss your options with the doctors/consultants.

Good luck with the scan xx

thanks all :)
I couldn't resist doing a bit of googling, I wish I didn't..
there are some scary reasons for polyhydramnios.. I don't like the sound of any of them tbh!!!
hopefully by Friday it will have sorted itself out, or its just a minor issue
:( I totally jinxed myself talking about how problem free and straight forward my pregnancy has been!!!

No advice but just so you know I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well for Friday x

Just out of interest how were your baby's movements when your tummy was so hard? Was it harder to feel them or did you feel them
More?

I only ask as my stomach feels rock hard. It may just be BH though
