Hello all,
I am ttc number two and in cycle 7 with one early mc in march and considering trying progesterone cream. I ordered the emerta brand but am finding warnings on the internet of birth defects. Any one familiar with this and is the cream safe?
Thanks so much

Hmmm...this is the one that I've been using. My acupuncturist told me it was the only safe one to use. Now I need to look it up online. I did use it for my last pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage. All I know is that it did help lengthen my luteal phase. When I told my doctor I was using it, she said it was ok to use, but I didn't tell her what brand I was using. She said there isn't evidence that progesterone cream works because the amount that gets absorbed is so small. She said the only real way to get a good dose is suppositories.

Thanks for your reply. I found a site that said all progestins (bad) are categorized in with the natural progesterone creams and must carry the same warnings. I am glad to hear that your doc. said it was fine. I may try it, i do have an 11 day lp. on the shortest end of normal. THe Emerita brand from what i saw is highly recommended for ttc.

BTW where can i find the ttc journal? I'd like to start my own.
Thank in advance

After your post, I did a little research myself and found the same thing you did. It looks like California passed a law requiring them to put that statement on their products. I'm not overly concerned, especially because I'm not using it every day for extended periods. I'm 11dpo today with no sign of AF. I don't feel pregnant, but am happy because my longest luteal phase is 12dpo, but usually is more like 10 - 11 days and I always spot at 11dpo.

If you want to start a TTC journal, go to https://www.babyandbump.com/ttc-journals/

Good luck!

Thats great about your LP! Mine is 11. I get my af 13 days after O on a 27 day cycle. have you tested yet? I have been trying since december with a mc in march. A chemical pregnancy they called it at my OB. Did you use they cream this month? I think i may give it a shot.

Yes, I did use the cream this cycle. This is the first cycle I've used it since my mc in January. My LP was 12 days last cycle, but spotted on 10 and 11dpo. Today I'm 12dpo and still no sign of AF whatsoever! If I'm not pregnant then the cream is really working! I just bought my tests today and will test tomorrow morning. I'll let you know!

I think you should use the cream. It definitely works for me. I'm sorry about your loss. Hope you are ok.

Well, a BFN for me this morning but still no sign of AF! I'm now 13dpo with no spotting or AF signs. This cream may just be a miracle for my LP! I'll keep you posted.

I'm sorry about the BFN. I hate those things! I am getting very eager to use the cream i am only cycle day 7 today so a little more waiting. Always waiting:) On another subject where was your picture taken? I live in Savannah Ga and it looks so much like the area where i live.

WHere in the hec do you find the place to upload the profile pic?

Well, I got my period today. But I had a good, healthy, 13 day luteal phase. It was definitely the longest ever.

I got married on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. That picture was taken in Truro, MA. A little further north than GA!

...any updates?
I am awaiting the arrival of my Pro-Gest cream any day now. My LP is 8-11 days long...I start spotting 8dpo, & full-blown AF 10-11dpo. So it's a short LP, & DH & I have been DEAD ON with baby-dancing when the OPKs detect the LH surge...so I'm hoping this is the only issue, & that the Pro-Gest helps! I've read a lot of success stories about it, so yay!
I've also starting taking vitamin B6 (in addition to a daily multi-vit) so I hope that helps, too!
Any updates would be appreciated!

Sorry I don't have any updates for you. I stopped using this cream a long time ago and moved to progesterone suppositories. I was never diagnosed with low progesterone but after so many losses, my doctor put me on the suppositories just as a safety measure. So far so good as I'm 8 weeks now. I think the cream can be beneficial but if you are really concerned you should have your progesterone levels checked. Good luck.
