DH suggested the name Emily and i really like it! However in the UK, Emily came out number 2 in the top 100!! I personally don't know many Emily's but the fact its so high in the charts puts me off! I know it can depend on areas sometimes, so tell me - is Emily popular where you are?

:flower:

There are a couple of Emily's at nursery here x

I know a lot of Emilys, admittedly older children and adults though, but it's a pretty name so if u like it then go for it

I only know 1 Emily my 6-7yr old cousin I find that there's a few names on the top 100 list that's fairly uncommon x

Emily is very popular here. Each year at school i work has several and also at my childrens school. X

I know a couple of Emilys, but none under the age of 5. We had Emily on our girls list, I love the name.

Thanks everyone so far. I love it, but i hate the thought of her becoming "Emily M"

Our eldest is Lily, which wasn't popular at all when we had her, now they're everywhere and i hate it! lol x

Emily is very popular where I am (Devon), all the Emily's I've heard of are under 3.

I worked in a primary school a while back and there was 1 Emily in the entire school. Other than that, I don't know any Emilys. I love the name. It's on our list for baby #2

Not very popular where i am. I don't know anyone called Emily.

I know of 2 Emily's, 1 is my age (28) and the other is in the year below my ds1 so she would be 7 or 8. It's a very pretty name!

I only know 1 Emily. It's a beautiful name, I wouldn't let popularity put you off x

Oh and this might be rude so feel free to ignore me but I think Emily and Lily sound a bit too similar to use for siblings.
Xx

The only Emilys I've know are my kind of age. Round here it's not that common for kids.

I only know one and she's an adult. I love the name but if I had another girl I'm choosing Amelia. Similar sounding, but I did consider Emily.

My name is Emily, and growing up I was always one of many in the class so it was honestly annoying to go by "Emily B." (I'm 27 by the way.) It seems to have remained fairly popular and I've known tons of Emilys my age and also younger ones, too. Don't get me wrong, I like the name, I've just never liked the popularity so when I was growing up I tried going by nicknames like "Emi" or spelling my name differently. Sometimes I wished I had a variation on the name like Emeline or Amelia.

I know two Emily's age 4..it is a popular name but if you love it I don't think it should put you off :) x
