Hi :)

My weight has yo-yo-ed over the last 10 years or so, from a nice healthy (for my height) 126 lb to a not-so-healthy 168 lb, and all the points in between!

I'm 14.5 weeks pp and have lost the vast majority of my baby weight without really trying, as I think most of it was baby and fluid, but I still have about 8 lb to go, plus I hope to lose another 10 lb on top of that to get me to 140 lb, which will do for the moment. I'd love to get back to the 126 lb mark of my early 20s but I'm not going to kid myself ;) 133 lb would be lovely though.

My trouble is, I have a huge sweet tooth, no self-control, and an emotional/boredom eating problem. I've done Slimming World and used MyFitnessPal in the past, and while I liked SW I felt there was literally no room to indulge - maybe because I did the online version and you'd get a lecture about syns any time you got close to 15 - and the relentless calorie counting and logging on MFP really did my head in after a while. With both methods I got down to 143 lb and couldn't seem to get any further.

I think rather than just trying diet after diet and yo-yo-ing for the rest of my life, I need to get to the bottom of the problem, especially as I want to set a good example to my daughter, as I never want her to have body issues, especially not ones learned from watching my dysfunctional relationship with food :dohh:

At the moment, also, I'm expressing milk for DD, so I'm ravenous all the time. I don't produce enough to exclusively feed her my milk, but the 16-18 oz per day I do make seems to require a lot of food!

So, if you have the same problem as me, what do you do to get it under control?

Best advice i was ever given. When you WANT sweets/cake/crisps etc wait 20 mins. If you still after 20mins go ahead

You cant say no all the time but mostly after 20mins youll forget, be doing something else or will feel full.

I'm also an emotional eater. I always find a big glass of water and a brisk 20 minute walk helps loads! When you feel a binge/eating session coming on! Sounds so simple but it works!!
