Empty sac at six weeks?

Hi girls. I got my BFP finally two weeks ago, but it's been hell since then. First my betas weren't doubling. They were 129, 216 and 292 two days apart. Doctor was concerned and suspected an ectopic and scheduled me for a ultrasound at six weeks, which was yesterday. Found a sac in my uterus, so not ectopic, but it was empty. So now he's concerned it's a blighted ovum. My beta yesterday was 4,451, which doctor said was good but he would have expected to have seen at least a yolk sac yesterday, but going in for another ultrasound at week seven. I guess I'm looking for some hope and success stories. Could it be babe is just a few days behind, especially since my betas weren't doubling in the beginning?

At 6+1 my levels were over 18,000 and all that was seen was an empty sac. Not even a yolk sac. The gestational sac was measuring 5+5.

At 7+4, baby caught up and was measuring spot on for my dates with a healthy heartbeat.

With early scans, it can always go either way. I don't know how implantation works with IVF, but if there is late implantation, it will put dates off. Sometimes baby is just a slow starter.

Even though you were 6 weeks for the scan, did the sac measure at 6 weeks or did it measure any early do you know?

Im not sure what the sac measured..hopefully it is just a slow starter!!

I had an early scan at what I though was 5 weeks 6 days but all that was there was gestational sac and teeny yolk sac but when I went back one week later, baby measured 7 weeks. Don't give up hope yet xx

Really trying not to lose hope!! Hope we see something at 7 weeks!!!

I've no experience of this but just wanted to wish you good luck!

I've only ever had scans from 8 weeks.
