Hi all I had an early scan last Tuesday that showed only one empty sac. I went for a detailed scan 3 days later on Friday that showed to sacs but only one contained a baby. Has anyone had an early scan with their twins and only saw one but you went on to have 2?? I'm hoping the other baby is just behind since 3 days before the sac wasn't even there. I have another appt on the 16th so hopefully I'll see 2 then.

This is what my report said: Two cystic structures within the endometrial canal most likey represent gestational sacs consistent with a twin pregnancy. Only one contains a fetal pole with estimated gestational age of 5 weeks 3 days. The other gestational sac is empty findings could be due to an early IUP or failed pregnancy. The sac containing the baby is a normal sac with a hb of 104.

Could be just behind the other one, best of luck!! :D xx

I had a scan at 6 weeks due to some spotting where they saw two sacs - one with a fetal pole and the other empty. I went back two weeks later and there were still two sacs with two fetal poles and two heartbeats!!

We have our 12 week scan next week and are hoping that both are still healthy and growing.

I don't have any experience with this, but hope that baby 2 catches up with baby 1 and you get to see two heartbeats in a few days time. Keep us all posted!

My babies were both there and growing equally at 7+1 but I have no idea what an ultrasound would have revealed earlier than that. Hoping for the best for you!

Thank you this gives me hope!! Are they growing at the same rate or is the other one a bit behind??

Early scans are notoriously unreliable so maybe another week will make all the difference!
