Hi all. Just needed some advice. I went to Dr today to get an US, was supposed to be around 7w and only measuring 5, with an empty sac. My blood level was high enough that more should be seen. I've been thru this before. I know what this means. Anyway, I'm on progesterone supplements and was told to stop taking them so my body will do what it is supposed to do. Question is, with the progesterone how long will this take? I start a new job next Tuesday and the thought of bleeding and miscarrying on my first day of work is not ideal. I'm mad and upset. I had a good cry by myself in the shower and went back to my family with a happy face. This is how I deal with this stuff.

Hey Jcliff (I remember you from when we were both pregnant a few years ago). I'm going through the same thing. An ultrasound at 9 weeks showed an empty sac. I have another ultrasound next Monday (at 10 weeks) to check everything again, and then we'll talk D&C.

I've had a tiny bit of brown spotting last week, but that was it, no further signs of miscarrying on my own, so in my experience, you could easily still be waiting two weeks from now. :(

Happy ending. Forgot to update: we saw healthy heartbeat a week later

Wow, that's amazing news. Congratulations. I just went in today for my 8 week ultrasound. I'm not 100% sure when I ovulated, so possibly I'm more like 7 weeks. My LMP was 5/23 and I think I ovulated on or around June 8, but I can't be sure. Anyway, only a gestational sac was seen on ultrasound, nothing more. I was too upset to ask questions so I don't know how big it was or if there was a yolk sac but I didn't hear the ultrasound tech mention one when she was dictating her report as she scanned. I'm to go back in 2 weeks to get scanned again. I feel super pregnant - boobs so sore and heavy, acute sense of smell, food aversions, small bump (third pregnancy not counting a very early chemical in March). I hope I have a happy ending too but am not too hopeful since I think I'm further along then you were when they saw your 5 week sac....
