End of the road?

Thanks Coffee. I am trying not to lose hope. I was when I did this first post, but now I am feeling like I can just keep trying and see what happens. I also really really wanto to see what the FS says. My specialist here is just an OB/GYN

Oh, I didn't realize you weren't already seeing an FS. So glad to hear you are going that route!! They will have a wealth of knowledge to pull from!

Yeah, it's really hard to see a FS here. You have to see your GP for so long, then an OB/GYN...and only after you have exhausted everything will they refer you. Probably because the visits are not covered with the FS.

Everything here is privatized so I see whoever, whenever I want. However, my private insurance doesn't pay for the FS. So, they'll take anyone anytime because we're all cash patients. Not cheap but worth it!!

I suppose the way you have to look at it is, they say they have done all THEY can, but I'm sure that a FS might have a few other options. He might have a different outlook. They say that with recurrent miscarriage IUI or IVF would be a waste of money but surely they'd need to pinpoint the cause of recurrent miscarriage in order to see if it's treatable or not before they can decide if it'd be a waste of money or not...

For instance, if your problem was, say, too little progesterone then a progesterone supplement during the first weeks of pregnancy would be beneficial. if your cervix was opening, perhaps, they could put a stitch in to prevent that.

Unless they know the CAUSE of the miscarriages they cannot give a fully informed judgment that IVF and IUI would be a total waste of time and money. They might be caused by something completely treatable and a FS would be able to deal with that.

i think it was wrong of him to say, if you were going to get pregnant you would have by now. we all know even though sometimes we dont want to believe it that it happens when the times right . I am strong believer that you cannot force it to happen and you will get pregnant, just when the times right.
