Ended up in LD for suspected flu

I do see both sides for sure.

I don't think the protocol for them to quarantine was out of line. I do think it is important for them to protect other women especially the ones delivering susceptible babies.

Not letting you go home when you wanted to, that's your choice. You should have a say in it!

It is concerning that your hr was so high and your oxygen was low. I would have been concerned too , especially since you are pregnant. I think more for the baby and not so much you, just because your baby could be having a little harder time getting the oxygen it needs.

I'm all about letting the body do what it's supposed to do, but sometimes when our immune systems are bogged down they can't do it as efficiently and that's when we run into problems. That's why people still die of what we think of as the simple flu! It really should be taken seriously in pregnancy. It's not {always} fear mongering, I think it's just educating yourself on what you need to take seriously and what you don't.. But people do still die from these things. Babies die, adults die. it does happen!

And BTW.. Glad you are feeling better!!!

Totally agree with this

If you were only ill for three days then you got away lightly. I'm shocked at some folk's responses to flu. It kills. Simple.

I had it around 23 weeks with my second. I was ill nearly a month. I was delirious for a week with the temperature, lost 30lb, had heart arrhythmias. All because of my body trying to fight the infection. I started getting strong contractions and the consultant told me they wouldn't do anything to help the baby because it was outside their 24week guideline. I was so sick I didn't care. They did a lumber puncture, etc, but it was just darn flu making me so ill.

If you cAn drive, bus or wall yourself to the hospital or Doctor then you haven't got the flu but a nasty cold. Then yes, you might be turned away. I was blue lighted to hospital and in intensive care.

Make up your own mind about vaccines. Last years was a failure because their predictions of the most likeliest pandemic was wrong. So they get it wrong sometimes. But this year the vaccine covers multiple strains which is more than enough.
