Thanks girls for all your answers, im really not sure what to do??

Might ask for one just to rule anything out, i want to be certain i am actually ok before IUI, if that makes sense

Hey All

I have stage 3 endo which has been on everything. I have a lovely DVD of the op which makes my insides look like someone threw black ink in. My bladder, bowels, kidney, womb, in fact everything looked like they had been dipped in it. Sorry TMI I know. 3 ops later and its back and causing troubles.

Hays. In all honesty if you think you have this PUSH for a lap. Endo shows occassionally on scans when it is a severe case and only then to certain specialists. The only way to diagnose for sure is a Lap. I am a huge advocate of this because I spent 15 years trying to get a diagnosis. My old family GP kept thinking i had an STD. Charming! Its not worth meddling with beacuse over time it will get worse and no one needs that.

Re your bowel troubles the link is there and alot of endo gets put down to good old IBS.

I have found over the last four years that there are a lot of old wives tales about endo. My MIL insists that DH and I will have a baby because she knows someone with mild endo that did. It doesnt mean anything. There are good and bad stories at all stages of this.

I wish us all a baby I really do. But dont take a chance on it. A first lap will reveal everything and if you gynae is a good one they will flush your tubes too. Then you will know for certain.

Sounds like you've been through it chick!!! The only thing making me want to have one,is the pelvic pain which started 3 months ago, the pains i get when trying to go to the loo,and the way my periods are heavier and not so reliable now! it seems like everything is getting worse!

When I had the HSG he put dye through my tubes,and all was fine etc...

Hey birdo

The consultant that did my HSG said that this is what they use to check for PCOS and Endo - she said that the scan would pick up any blockages and also any patches of endo?? what did they say when you had it done?xxx

Im pretty sure they said a LAP was the only way to detect endo, the HSG showed my ovaries,and tubes that was it

I really hope you don't mind me asking, but by that is it something like i'm about to describe...impossible to actually do a number 2 and when you strain to try, or when you do, there's a pain like around your womb, almost as if the two are attached and you're trying to push out the wrong bit? Sorry that might make no sense. xx

Ive had 6 operations for endo now. After the first time (when i didnt know what it was), i just went to my gyni and told him i had the same pain etc. I had surgury a week later.

Im not sure how it works in diff countries. Im in Aus and have health insurance. As laperos are a very uninvasive and simple op's i dont think theres any reason not to.

Go see a diff gyn and dont say "I have these symtoms, what can you do?" Say "I have endo pain, operate on me" Thats what i did.

I have always been told I have bad IBS, but it seems to have got alot worse, i can only actually go to the toilet properly when af is here,and it hurts! the pains i get are also not normal tummy cramps?? i no something doesnt feel right, thats why im thinking of pushing for a lap, I want to be all clear before I start IUI.

And yes it does make sense hun xx

Thank you. Yeah that's the same here. My entire digestive system just doesn't work properly but like you i'm beginning to wonder if maybe IBS is just a more convenient explanation for doctors, when i factor in the horrendous periods they could be related.

Hope you get things sorted, and you get a lap if you want it before your IUI xx
