I've just been referred to gynae this morning because my GP reckons i could have endometriosis :(

obviously, i've been whizzing around the net trying to read up on it but the best info comes from those with first hand experience...so i'd love to hear from anyone else who has this and about their ttc journey.

i had a diagnosis in my early twenties but the consultant put me on the pill and that was that. i came off it and was very lucky to conceive quickly with my first but this time round it's 14 months and counting.

feeling very teary this morning

tell me there's hope please x

Hiya,

I know how emotionally draining and worrying it is when they tell you this. I have only just found out myself due to painful periods. The doctors seem to think there is no reason not to fall pregnant (based on having regular periods) and the sonographer said she sees loads of ladies with endo getting pregnant and how so many women have it and dont even realise. I know I don't have a success strory yet but thought it might be helpful to hear what my GP and sonographer said.

Can I ask-are you in the UK? I just made a post in ttc about endo and being referred, my GP wont refer me and they said theres no point yet as they wont do anything but not sure if it sounds right?

Loads of luck and I hope lots of ladies post with their success stories xx

thanks for replying :)

yeah i'm in the uk, my GP was very sympathetic, seems i'm lucky.

i have no idea what the treatment for endo is...i haven't fully researched it yet. i just know that i'll get an ultrasound scan on my first appt to rule out pcos and then the next stage would be a laparoscopy.

my periods are very irregular ranging from 26-54 days and we've been trying for 14 months now.

i conceived my ds without any probs so this is very frustrating :(

I wish mine was-they seem to think its so common that it doesnt matter

There are various treatments but my GP said "get pregnant"...if only it was so easy!!

I am the same, my son was conceived without even trying...on the pill! I assumed it would be easy this time round but hasnt gone that way.

I am sure we will get there soon xx

Hi Scrumptious, my understanding is that if they find endo during the lap they do a surgery to remove the built up tissue, usually then and there. I know I have seen several success stories on this site where people got a BFP within a few months of the lap. And my FS also was quite optimistic about results (I may have endo, but we're ruling out LPD first). So, lots of reasons to be hopeful! xx
