I need some advice from someone with Endometrosis, what has worked for you? How long did it take? I have been trying for a year and its just starting to wear me down i just dont no what to do any more :nope: Please help!

well when they found my endometrioma as part of a fertility investigation the doc told me that it might take a bit longer than usual.... 22months and still counting...there's a thread on the forum for endo sufferers...you can do a search using the b&b search tools. It is very frustating having to wait so long but i'm sure we'll all get our little bundles.... Just don't loose hope. X

We were/are having trouble conceiving, so part of the investigations for me was to have a laparoscopy as we fell in the unexplained category. My FS found I had a significant amount of endo which he cut out, that was in May and we are starting our first cycle of IVF. Good luck, I hope you get some answers and your BFP soon, keep your chin up :hugs:

Hi Hun

Im sorry about your ttc journey so far. What stage is your endo? Have you had a lap and looked at? It really depends on your endo in what treatement you should have. Have you been to the gp or gyno about it?

I have grade 4 I have been unable to ttc naturally, endo too aggressive. I am currently on zoladex and starting IVF 2 in October. My 1st one ended in a mc. Please dont too scared, many endo sufferers go on to have babies naturally.

Goodluck Lioness with your cycle.

Dilek

Wot are your symtons with endo? Are you in pain ?
Just some general queries as unsure really wot endo is and how you would know if u have it?
xx

Hi Beuty

I am no expert when it comes to the symptoms, as i had none when i was diagnosed but I had an endo cyst. So some women get symtoms to really bad to manageable and some like me get nothing.

But i think these are it

1. Painful intercourse
2. Painful periods, and i think its very heavy
3. Bowel problems
4. Most women have some sort of IBS (not proven, my personal opinion)
5. Fatigue
6. Nauseu
7. Infertility
8. Pain in pelvis, especially around ovaries.

Im sure there are many more, which someone might add on later but the only way to get diagnosed is to have a lap. A scan wont show endo unless you have a cyst.

Hope it helps and as a sufferer I hope you or anyone else is diagnosed. However it is common.

I am having a hsg done in October, i dont think i have endo well not proven but seen few posts on endo and was wondering really wot the symtons are..

Thanks for sharing it..
xx

Beauty, in one of the above posts Dilek has mentioned the most common symptoms, but some women can be asymptomatic (ie: without symptoms)...I didn't know I had it until the FS did a laparoscopy and then removed it. My FS said that he finds about 70% of unexplained infertility cases have endo of some degree. This is why he recommended the course of action that he did...and I am so glad he did otherwise I would have never known. Good luck with your HSG and I hope it gives you some answers and brings you closer to your BFP!

Dilek...good luck on your Oct IVF cycle...looks like there are a few of us in October! FX for the elusive BFP!!!!!!

But they cant tell u have it until the do a lay and dye?? I mean what is the point of doing a HSG scan then?? Wouldnt it be better to do a lap and dye? How far from a HSG do FS normally do a lap and dye?
Oh god im worrying now.. i have no reason to belive i have it but you read too many things on bnb that make you start thinking things..

I think i need to wait till i have a hsg scan before worrying! x

Hi Beauty. HSG looks at your tubes and your uterus- if they are clear and no growths/fibroids. The ony reason i suspect endo is because i have a small endometrioma/or dermoid cyst. I saw the specialist on monday who suggested to do a lap to check for endo end to remove the cyst at the same time, but i refused as the cyst is very small 1.5/2.5 cm and they don't usally operate these....i am just scared that they may cause more damage then good....

Hi
I've had a diagnosis of endo in the past - 'chocolate' cysts on my ovary and also small endo deposits removed in a laparoscopy a few years ago.
I'm still ttc - about a year of trying now
Good luck to you

I had endo diagnosed and removed last November and I conceived naturally in June (after ttc for 3.5 years) My only symptoms were painful AF and unexplained infertility.

Good luck with your investigations :)

There are a number of symptoms listed here that women with endo may experience. Some may get a few, some all and others none.

The only conclusive way to diagnose is through laparoscopic surgery. With any luck, your surgeon will remove any at the same time.

It's worth having a hysterosalpingogram beforehand as, apart from being painless and non invasive, it examines the inside of the uterus and falliopian tubes, which could be blocked and this could have nothing to do with endometriosis.

Good luck with getting your BFP.

Interesting Brumbar I also have had dermoid cysts, well all 5 attached to one ovary and they were a size of a large orange each. Yeah i would say dont touch it, my FC does not recommend i have any more operations to my ovaries.
I currently have another cysts, and they are confused if its a dermoid or another endo cyst. I HATE ENDO!!! :growlmad:

Ohh and i forgot to mention my new fibriods i grew while going through my IVF cycle in June

HI Dilek

Yeah...I read your story:cry: and this is one of the main reasons why I wouldn't let them touch it. They are not sure if it is a chocolate cyst or a dermoid as the ultrasound shows that it may have bits in it ( i.e dermoid). The fertility specialist sent me to an endo specialist who of course said : "lets do a lap!well, you don't have to as the cyst is small, but... you need to make a decision now!!!!!" What the hell was she thinking! it's not a manicure- it's an operation! So I told her no and that I'd rather monitor it for changes- if it grows I'll think about it....My priority is to have a child and I don't want some butcher to mess it up and spill it all over my organs and make it worse! Good luck with the IVF cycle in Oct Dilek....hope it all goes well this time... x

Hey hun

I just had an MRI scan today to check if my cyst is a dermoid or endo cysts. Maybe you could raise this with your dr. I hope you get your BFP soon.

Hi there

Sorry about your losses even at your age that must be so hard. There are many women with endo that do eventually fall pregnant, some of us soon and others take a while. My FC did say that endo affects all areas of fertility and we have a high chance of miscarriage. I would highly recommend you get a referral to a gyno to have a look at your endo. Maybe a lap or hormone therapy might help. Hope this helped.

Found this great site about endo.

Am going to an endo specialist next week because I'm suspecting I've got it.
